I’m starting to build out my registry for Diaconate Ordination, and one of the books that I need to add to my registry is the new baptismal rite book for children. I see there are three different publisher versions. I’m assuming all the text is the same, but I’m sure the layout might be different. Can anyone recommend one of these over the other two and why?

The three publishers I have seen are:
To me, they all appears to be about the same size. Does one have wider margins (for post it notes)? I think I saw that the Catholic Book Publishers one has intonation notes for some of the rite. Do the others?

Thanks!

I ordered the one from Catholic Book Publishing, and got it from Communication Center, comcenter.com, because that has the cheapest price I could find.

You can view a sample at Com Center for the Catholic Book Publishing item.

They also have the one from the USCCB but it doesn’t have view sample (and it’s more expensive).

I see you can “look inside” on the LTP site too.

They don’t look much different to me.

Thanks… I have looked at all of them online before, but was just looking for subtle differences in the publishers from firsthand use. All seem to have very narrow margins, but do any of them have better pagination? I know I have seen priests and deacons in the past be halfway through a prayer, and then have to flip a page to continue it. Just looking for advice with things like this.

At my parish, we picked up the one from Catholic Book Publishing. I haven’t had a chance to really study it, but it looks just as usable as the current ritual book.

I think you’ll find, over the course of your ministry, that the dynamic of prayers / readings / etc falling onto the next page is pretty common. Just imagine all the wasted empty space and paper that there would be, if that weren’t the case!

I’ve seen these books (don’t have any), but I don’t think I have ever seen one with wide margins. Why would you want or need wide margins?

Why would you want or need wide margins?
For placement of post-it notes. (My personal opinion is that there’s plenty of space in the body of the text itself – that is, places where there are prayers that aren’t being used – to place post-it notes. YMMV.)
