The Roman/Western Rite of the Mass is the only one

Hi Everyone,

I got into a discussion with my fellow Roman Catholic, who happens to follow the Eastern Rite. My stance was that the Western/Roman Rite was the true and more correct and more God-pleasing rite for the church, or any loyal Catholic to follow.

Think about it, the pope had primacy over the entire Christian church before they split in the Great Schism, he led the unified church and followed the western rite during that entire time.

The church schismed to begin with because the other patriarchs didn’t recognize the true and holy authority of the Pope from Rome and decided to follow the Constantinoplan hereticc patriarch.

He dared to defy our Holy Father and promulgated his mystical and over the top Eastern Rite. True Catholics that follow the Eastern Rite have finally and truthfully came home. Back to the Church’s loving arms…but they still follow this schismatic Eastern Rite.

How can I explain to my friend that the Western Rite is the true Rite to follow?? Help me out fellow Roman Catholics! 🙂
 
Well, since that’s not true, not sure we can be of much help.
 
That isn’t true, and isn’t a view held by the Catholic Church.
 
Forget it. This is just so offensive I don’t want to be a part of it.

Let’s see, you have this topic and another topic where you are asking for guidance on how to ‘force’ a woman to confession for attending anti-life rallies, whom you joke about in church to others with ‘here comes the anti-lifer’, whom you have been trying to ‘force a confession intervention on’. . .

I’m sensing a pattern here. If you are serious, I think you need to learn more about what you think is ‘true Roman Catholicism’ because you seem to be having a few errors in your judgment on Catholic teaching and topics.
 
This isn’t Church teaching, so no one will be able to help you convince someone of something that’s not true.
