The Rosary is repetitious, why?

If he is worried about repetitive prayer, then is he against angles repetitive prayer and scripture?

(Rev 4:8 ESV) And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”

Also

(Mat 26:44 ESV) So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again.

As to prayer, a case in point: I attended the funeral of a co-worker. The presider was a CoC pastor. Having long since recognized certain, shall we say, patterns in bible Christian prayer, I paid particular attention to both his opening and closing prayers. Since formulaic prayer is verboten in such circles, it is apparently somehow more fitting to stutter and stammer one’s way through a prayer, tacking petitions on as one goes.

We have all heard the “LorWeJus…” prayer, as in “Lord, we just ask that you…”

There were 17 Lords in the opening prayer and 19 in the closing.

NOT repetitive in the least.

I call them the ‘just wanna’ prayers. I’m not so much bothered by the repetition as I am by the fact that they don’t just wanna because they immediately follow one just wanna with another.

Ask him how he prays? I’ll bet it is more or less the same thing over and over…

I’m sure you could ask a ‘7th day adventist’ many more questions that start with ‘why’

The Rosary is Mary’s Psalter.
It represents the Psalms. Hence 15 mysteries and 10 Hail Mary’s each mystery for 150. 15 decades.

It also reflects the 150 psalms - it only appears repetitious to those who do not understand the prayer or know how to pray it properly.

I see it practiced wrong sometimes - before mass some times it appears to be a race to get through by some people - I always try to slow them down as it is a meditative prayer of course with some giving me bad looks for doing so - some people do pray it repetitively with no thought of the mysteries its simple to race to get through it without any thought. Maybe I take it too seriously but thats who I am.
