Has anyone been to this website?

rosaryoftheunborn.com/

They sell a special rosary for ending abortion and other crimes against human life. They also say that apparitions of Jesus, Mary, and St. Thomas Aquinas have asked that this rosary be made and be made by them alone. They tell people not to go to other sellers but that the apparitions asked that Archangel Gabriel Enterprises Inc. c/o Holy Love Ministries be the sole creator of these rosaries. Their website has lists of quotes from the apparitions and more information about them but not much.

Is this group legitimate and does anyone know anything about them? Have the apparitions been investigated, approved or otherwise been looked at by the hierarchy? If I buy a rosary from them do I open myself to spiritual harm or to cooperating in some scam? Is this group crazy and cult-like? Also they pray for the intercession of Archbishop Gabriel Ganaka; is this permissible? I think their rosary sounds like a great idea but before I support them I want to know if what they support is good. Can anyone tell me that?

As far as I can tell the apparitions are unapproved - so on that score we can’t discuss them here as CAF has rules against the discussion of unapproved apparitions. (Rightly so.)

But when a company starts to promote their product as having an “apparition endorsement” and tells people to ONLY by their product because ONLY their product has blessings attached to it…

That does not pass the smell test.

The rosary I use is fashioned out of cord that has been knotted. No one needs to buy a fancy one, and this one - I cannot find photos - may be nice, but it isn’t special or even better than using your ten fingers when you need to.

To me, it is not legitimate. They indicate on their FAQ page that the beads themselves have special abortion stopping powers. That, coupled with the fact that they indicate that anyone who copies their design is working for Satan seems to indicate to me that they are twisting religion to their own ends.

I have made rosaries for all kinds of reasons – NEVER have I ever seen anything limiting who can provide/make rosaries to anyone for any reason.

This is definitely the kind of thing to stay away from.

As I posted on another thread:
CAUTION STATEMENT - Holy Love Ministries (a.k.a. - The Confraternity of the United Hearts)
The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland issued this CAUTION in August of 1999 which still applies today:
HOLY LOVE MINISTRIES
(Missionary Servants of Holy Love)
CAUTION
A group known by the name “Holy Love Ministries” and also the “Missionary Servants of Holy Love,” has been active in the Cleveland area for several years. Earlier names associated with this group have been the “Our Lady Protectress of the Faith Movement,” “Project Mercy,” and “Mary’s House of Prayer.” * They continue to seek funds to develop their center and support their effort. We would caution anyone considering support of such a venture to realize that this organization has no approval or support from the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. In a meeting held with diocesan officials, leaders of “Holy Love Ministries” made it clear that although they encourage Catholic practices, the ministry is ecumenical, and therefore not subject to the authority of the Catholic Church.
Recent publicity regarding reported apparitions and messages makes it necessary to urge extreme caution in giving credence to such claims.

From the website
“I am Mary, Ever Virgin. Praise be to Jesus.” (She is framed by the Rosary of the Unborn.) “I gave this rosary to My mission (Holy Love) here in Ohio. The rosary you produced and that you offer here has many promises attendant to it. Copies do not.” Blessed Mother, 5/27/2002

“I am your Jesus, born Incarnate. I have come to speak publicly about the Rosary of the Unborn. This is a great gift given from Heaven in and through this mission of Holy Love. My Mother has designed this rosary Herself, and with Her approval it is now being reproduced. Many and important promises are attendant to this unique rosary of Her design. In the world there are those who have set about to counterfeit this special rosary. I am asking the faithful-do not be fooled. It is the rosary given here at this mission of Holy Love that carries with it the promises from Heaven.” Jesus, 5/29/2002

Hmm… I wonder if Jesus and Mary get a share of the profit?

These statements, and similar ones, make me exceedingly suspicious. Personally, I would not do business with them.

I"ve seen the rosary, and believe in what it stands for. I also think the embryo beads are …good reminders (like the “Little Feet” pins). But I agree with RPP.

There is a difference between, “Hey CAF, I came up with a new chaplet …a private devotion…you may be interested in sharing!”
versus:
"Maureen/Susie/Jack/Joe Snuffy has had a private revalation and special instruction from Mary and Jesus themselves – not approved by the local Bishop, mind you – and they’ve been instructed to sell these rosaries, not copies. Oh, and “[This material rosary itself] hold the graces given by Heaven.”

All of that smack of being somewhat…Bayside-ish to me.
