We need more scholarly, unbiased analysis like this.
Why is it that pointing out flaws in the upcoming presidency elicits such strong reactions? If I had posted an anti-Trump article from that website you likely wouldn’t have complained.

I’ve read Counter-Punch, I see nothing wrong with them for content, to post. I like a website for some things called “Byline Times” and did post an article from them. That said, sometimes it is still helpful to find out where articles are coming from:

Long before my time, the Democrats were once temporarily the antiwar party. Long gone. Whatever happened to that?

The antiwar sentiment is still there among liberals and progressives. But look at what happened to the few candidates who expressed it. Sanders found himself sandbagged in 2016. Sanders and Gabbard were sabotaged this year. It was a tradition at the DNC that every candidate who won any delegates would get a speaking slot, if only a minor one, that candidate would still get a few minutes. Gabbard was not invited to speak; heck, she wasn’t even invited to the convention at all and confirmed her non-participation on Twitter.

That antiwar sentiment was one of the major reasons Trump beat out the other candidates for the Republican nomination in 2016. That sentiment is the big reason the entire DC establishment has had it in for him from before he was even elected, let alone inaugurated.

Nothing wrong with being in Afghanistan for 19 years. Nothing wrong with being in Iraq for 17. And so on. Such hubris.
