I am not sure if someone said this already…so sorry if I am repeating it. I was on a reetreat once and the priest did a talk on sin. He asked us to bring to mind the sins we commit the most often, big or small. He gave us examples like dishonesty, sexual thoughts, being uncharitable etc. We wrote them down on a piece of paper. He then told us that there were 3 root sins that our sins would relate to in one way or another. Pride, Sensuality and I beleive the third was covetessness. If we recognize which of the three our sins relate to, we can begin working on the root. So, if you have sins that seem to stem from pride, you try to become more humble and keep ann eye out for prideful tendancies in your everyday life.
