This has been a problem for more decades in Europe.than it has been in the US, and in the US it’s been a problem for over 50 years now.

Maybe some new ideas will come out of the synod.
 
I doubt that the Catholicism in Europe will be revitalized by means of surveys, listening sessions, or even synods seeking the (name removed by moderator)ut of young people. It might be revitalized by producing priests in the mold of the Cure of Ars.
