I don’t doubt that fresh air and exercise can help in some cases, but you also at the very least need a therapist monitoring your care. There are also quite a few people whom it does not help. I’ve known plenty of people who lived in absolutely beautiful parts of the country, or next to gorgeous parks, etc and they still suffered from clinical depression and needed more than garden time to feel better. The book, which of course is from an earlier era, treats the subject in a simplistic and to me, preachy way.
