:bible1: Jewish people pray this prayer and it has meant a lot to me spiritually - there are so many false ‘gods’ of the world and this prayer helps me as a Catholic to keep that perspective. So I thought I’d share it here. 
For me as a Catholic, of course, Jesus comes into the picture as well; for Jews He wouldn’t but I think it’s a prayer that can connect us with our Jewish brothers and sisters.
I am eager to study and learn more about the Jewish-Catholic connection - like, when JPII visited the Holy Land - and hopefully some steps are being made to reconcile old wounds between Catholics and Jews. It’s still a work in progress, but IMO, I think it’s something to celebrate.
The first part of the prayer, from Deuteronomy 6:4-
**Shema Yisroel, Adonai Elohenu, Adonai Echad!
Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone! **(NAB)
