I read The Gospel According to the Simpsons a few years ago. It’s great.

the joke with homer looking at the bible and finding no answers is that he’s so stupid and selfish is he can’t see any. the joke is about homer being a fool, not about the bible not having answers. if the bible didn’t have answers, how would that be funny?
glad to see some people get it instead of seeing blasphemy at every turn

I just heard that $74 million was spent over the weekend for the movie. With that said, I will wait for it to be on DVD because that way I can enjoy it at home and can watch it many times as possible.

I really don’t see anything wrong with the Simpsons. If you grew up with the Mad Magazine type of humor, satire, and wit, then you’d like the Simpsons. I’m sure Mat Groeing may have grew up with Mad Magazine.

I will looke for that about mentioned book about the Gospel According to the Simpsons. I wonder if they have a book like The Simpsons For Dummies?😛 (and no I don’t mean that literally).🙂

I saw it tonight and liked it. It was pretty funny. Better then I thought it would be.

I saw it tonight too. It seemed to me that most of the funniest parts were allready shown in the commercials, and the others my friend kind of gave away before hand…so that ruined it a bit for me, but the others I saw it with liked it.

The jokes about religion didnt seem mean-spirited to me at all, and I like how seemingly every citizen of springfield goes to church.

I noticed Homer didn’t say D’oh once in this movie. That’s a first and it was an hour and a half. 😛

Do you think that was intentional by the creators? "D’oh! We forgot!"😛

I used to watch the simpsons but I dunno…sometimes they blaspheme and its horrible.

The season 2 episode of this show where homer steals cable Tv is one of the most overtly christian episodes of the show… Sad to know they changed the Lisa character slowly from a Christian to a buddist… quite sad, because this episode is brilliant.

The scene where she sees Satan sitting next to Homer in their living room was actually quite scary for kids to see.
