The sin in imagination

Good afternoon. I want to ask you:
Is imagination a sin? Imaginating something not real (a travel, a group of friends…), but without bad thoughts against people, can be considered a sin?

If you are honestly concerned this could be a sin, you either have a very poor understanding of what sin is, or you have a real case of scrupulosity. Either way, you need to see a priest.

I don’t mean to be unkind, but this question is completely ridiculous.

It’s not a sin unless you’re spending so much time imagining and daydreaming that you’re neglecting your daily duties towards God, your family, your work or schoolwork, etc.

Or unless you’re using your imagination to fuel some sinful thoughts you have like lust.
