Hi all.

I am looking for examples of the sin of presumption (venile and mortal). I’m afraid I don’t really understand this sin as much as I’d like to. Thanks and God bless.

an analogy would be the life of the pharisees , where they relied on the externals of life, not the internal.

EXAMPLE: You commit a mortal sin. Knowing that you have already fallen from grace, you make no attempt not to resist temptation and freely give into other sins because you are already in a state of sin and you know that when you confess that first sin, you will also confess these other sins – you are PRESUMING on God’s mercy to forgive you these sins, so you go ahead and do them.

Not to mention one would also be *presuming *to make it to confession.
