No, apparently in the past Masses in Italian dioceses kept going even in plague times. But in those days people didn’t understand how diseases were transmitted.

Mountain just reported that Vatican City border is now closed by order of the Italian government. No more people going to Mass at St Peters unless they live in Vatican City, I guess.
