I think it is good show that smart people believe in God, but the rich and powerful people are often the most infamous for being greedy and blatantly corrupt. I’ll never know someone’s chance of salvation, but the Bible says that rich people have a snowball’s chance in hell of ever getting into heaven.

Indeed. One thing I’ve found is that athiesm correlates with marxism, correlates with other radical viewpoints. By shifting the conversation around a bit, I’ve never struggled to find an athiest that believed in utterly stupid and unprovable things. Just get Richard Dawkins onto politics and you’ll see what i mean. For someone who thinks we believe in invisible men in the sky and dusty old books, he doesn’t half like politicial nonsense found in dusty old books that have empirically failed every attempt at implementation. I agree that skeptical people are difficult to fool on most matters. Meanwhile, I see informercials where American Christians are sending loads of money to rich Protestant preachers to buy vials of water that are supposed to make them rich. I always thought of Catholics as more thoughtful, maybe because of the Jesuits and the quality of Catholic education.

The name is only Serbian Orthodox Church, not Serbian Orthodox Catholic Christian Church. And Nikola Tesla’s father was Priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Too bad most of Tesla family was slaughtered by the Croat Ustashe during world war 2.

Spyridon this is just what I need. I just got into a debate with a friend firstly on the Old Testament and Jewish History, specifically the Temples and Temple Mount, then he changed it up to ‘you can’t be a scientist and believe in God’

My goodness, I had to tell him he was reading crackpot websites when he said professor x said David didn’t build stuff. Like cities. I said what stuff? The Temple? Of course he didn’t and the Bible tells us God told him not to build it. His son, Solomon built it.

I got …there is no archaeological evidence, I said what, no evidence for the Temples or Old Jerusalem?
 
I am part of the Orthodox Church. The jurisdiction i belong to is a secret for my own safety.
