I find funny that we always want to jump all over those who are successful. We live in America where we are all able to grow up in the slumbs and rise to the top. I also found it funny that these people claim to be suffering when they obviously eat well and are able to dress accordingly.

Speaking as someone who was born into a very poor family who didn’t even have a house to live in, didn’t own a car until I was in JR High, went days eating almost nothing, most of my childhood, I can now say that a lot of hard work and presistance has brought me out of poverty and I it has never been lost on me that this came about because I live in this wonderful country.
 
My sister and her husband talked to some of the OWS people in New York City.

They offered her some pamphlets and she asked what their agenda and position was. They replied, “We are socialists.” My sister pushed a little, asking them what their platform was, what specific things they were protesting about, and they replied with things like “We are for jobs for the poor” and “universal access to healthcare.”

They don’t know the difference between “Social issues” and “Socialism.” They think socialism is the same thing as social activism.

Dave Ramsey interviewed these people for three hours yesterday on the radio and it was like this throughout - people who have no idea what socialism is and just don’t have a clue what they are talking about.

Yeah I think this just shows how screwed up our school systems are. Young people get indoctrinated in school and then we have to wait until they get a job, pay some taxes, and see how anyone can succeed before they realize socialism is a joke. Its amazing how little time it has taken after the Cold War for people to forget what socialism really is.
