I think you all know what I mean. Does it happen to you? Should I just never read it if it’s gonna tempt me?

I’m not sure what you are posting this thread about.

Not sure if it happens to me because I’m not aware of what to examine.

Read what for it may tempt you?

… I thought it was going to be about the Gloria that we sing at the beginning of Mass.

I mean the Song of Solomon from the Bible. It’s a highly sensual book. I hope you get my meaning now

I had the joy of reading part of it as one of my sister’s wedding readings XD.

I do understand what you mean. There is a lot of sensual language in the book. The point is to give us a sense of God’s longing for us. It make be a little uncomfortable, but Eros (sexual love), also finds its origin in God’s nature.

It is sensual, but not sexual…that “bride” is the Church, the Body of Christ, and the book speaks of Christ the groom’s love for his bride.

In the work by St John of the Cross, “The Spiritual Canticle,” he interprets the Song of Songs as it relates to the spiritual marriage of the soul to the beloved, “Jesus Christ.”

It has nothing to do with sensuality.

I find sensuality extremely attractive, so trust me it’s a problem if I’m gonna be a catholic since I’m not married

Isn’t it also meant to give free way to sensual lovemaking between spouses? In any case it does not matter, it’s still sensual

No, has nothing to do with that.

The Song of Song is about the union of the soul with the beloved, Almighty God.

It was Therese of Lisieux’s favorite book of the Bible, as well as the favorite of many mystics. You show a kind of scrupulosity here that seems a bit unhealthy, frankly.
