Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As I read the next stanza of the hymn, Stabat Mater it reminded me of the book: “Mary, the Church at the Source” and these words written by then Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Emeritus, Benedct XVI:
" O Jesus, living in Mary, come and live in Your servants, in the spirit of Your holiness, in the fullness of Your power, in the perfection of Your ways, in the truth of Your virtues, in the communion of Your mysteries. Rule over every adverse power, in Your Spirit, for the glory of the Father. Amen."
(Prayer of Fr. Olier)

We are not only to “hear” but obey Jesus’ words:“…The image of the grieving Mother who in her suffering had become sheer compassion…”
The words of the hymn “Stabat Mater” encourage us to ask our Mother to help us grow more like her:“Behold your Mother”
Come Holy Spirit , kindle in us the Fire of Your Love as you filled Mary !Let me mingle tears with thee,
Mourning Him who mourned for me,
All the days that I may live.
