Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today, let us continue to ponder our Mother Mary, as we began HERE, with verses of the Hymn “Stabat Mater” until Holy Saturday.
Christ above in torment hangs.
She beneath beholds the pangs
Of her dying glorious Son.

Is there one who would not weep,
Whelmed in miseries so deep,
Christ’s dear Mother to behold?

A holy priest once told my husband and me that more saints are made by looking at a crucifix than any other practice…this is a priest whom we go to for help for he has suffered with Jesus and Mary. He is a priest whom I’ve never heard “preach about himself”; a priest who seeks to help his flock - wherever he is sent by God - though in retirement now because of age and a stroke not too long ago, he yet continues to help out hearing confessions and offering Masses when needed.

I mention him today because he has always encouraged us to trust the Holy Spirit in times when the Church is (as it is in our time) under attack by satan and those who listen to his lies.

Mary beneath the Cross of her Son experienced with Jesus the “enmity of satan” foretold in Genesis. The Church of whom Mary is both Mother and Model needs to stand with her as we too experience satan’s enmity against her seed - Jesus, and all the members of His Body!

We need to weep, as we suffer through Mary, with Mary, in Mary and for Mary that we may truly weep and suffer through Jesus, with Jesus, in Jesus and for Jesus.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your Faithful. Kindle in us the Fire of Your Love. Enable us to stand with our Sorrowful Mother, beneath the cross of Jesus. Enable us to learn from Jesus and Mary to forgive those who tresspass against us, as Jesus forgave us and Mary His “echo” forgave us, Her Immaculate Heart, Pierced and united most intimately with His Sacred Heart Pierced and emptied for Love – giving ALL.
