The source of Samson's strength is God actually. But...?

So What did his strength originate? I’m sure that it wasn’t his hair.

It’s my belief that his not being allowed to cut his hair was just a test of God for Samson.

No .It is the strength of the Holy Sprite .Samson has made a vow of Nazarenes like Jesus did.

Numbers 6:1-8 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When either men or women make a special vow, the vow of a nazirite, to separate themselves to the Lord, 3 they shall separate themselves from wine and strong drink; they shall drink no wine vinegar or other vinegar, and shall not drink any grape juice or eat grapes, fresh or dried. 4 All their days as nazirites they shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, not even the seeds or the skins.

5 All the days of their nazirite vow no razor shall come upon the head; until the time is completed for which they separate themselves to the Lord, they shall be holy; they shall let the locks of the head grow long.

yes
Judges 16:28 Then Samson called to the Lord and said, “Lord God, remember me and strengthen me only this once, O God, so that with this one act of revenge I may pay back the Philistines for my two eyes.”29 And Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and he leaned his weight against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other. 30 Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” He strained with all his might; and the house fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So those he killed at his death were more than those he had killed during his life.

Judges 13:2 There was a certain man of Zorah, of the tribe of the Danites, whose name was Manoah. His wife was barren, having borne no children. 3 And the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman and said to her, “Although you are barren, having borne no children, you shall conceive and bear a son. 4 Now be careful not to drink wine or strong drink, or to eat anything unclean, 5 for you shall conceive and bear a son. No razor is to come on his head, for the boy shall be a nazirite

24 The woman bore a son, and named him Samson The boy grew, and the Lord blessed him. 25 The spirit of the Lord began to stir him in Mahaneh-dan,
between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Judges 14:5-6 Then Samson went down with his father and mother to Timnah. When he came to the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion roared at him 6 The spirit of the Lord rushed on him, and he tore the lion apart barehanded as one might tear apart a kid. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.

Yes it is the Holy Spirit

I think of poor Absalom - and his hair -
how he got caught in a tree branch -
and his dad’s soldiers killed him, where he hung !

1 Corinthians 11:14 King James Version (KJV)
Doth not even nature itself teach you,
that, if a man have long hair,
it is a shame unto him?

I have heard of bible belter people - who hold deadly snakes -
and also other people who literally stand on their head -
to get that strength to their hair / brain - like Samson !

OK lets not get too carried away with a story.

Did Tiger Woods lose his “strength” because he was unfaithful to his wife and God punished him withdrawing his talent?

He did have a pretty big downturn didn’t he? I don’t really follow, but I thought that might have happened.

Why did Samson sleep with a prostitute and he still had the strength? Did he commit a sin?
This story of Samson is a type of Christ. His sleeping with the harlot link to Adam sleeping and giving birth to Eve and Jesus sleeping in death and giving birth to the Church. Because he came to the city on day one, left at midnight on day 2 and carried the city gate 40 miles up hill to a hill near Hebron it was the third day when he set the gate which had door posts so a doorway like Jesus’ cross was left on a hill. Samson lived because he carried his cross and Jesus lived because he carried His cross.
Grace and peace,
Bruce
