Could it be a seed planted by God started the universe with what we call the big bang was simular to the seed planted in Mary’s womb during the incarnation?

I know this must sound like a terrible question, but I get weird ideas sometimes and have to talk to people about them to get them out of my head.

Thank you.

Frank

Why not? All words we use to refer to God are analogical anyway. Our human terminology is inadequate to describe the ineffable power, glory, beauty, love and perfection of the Supreme Being…

It definitely wasn’t similar in size. I’m pretty sure it would be uncomfortable to have a universe inside your body.

That’s the very miracle of the incarnation. No harder to believe than the entire universe being concentrated in a singularity before the big bang. I don’t think size has anything to do with it.

Interesting question. There are probably some profound similarities.

One big difference though is that seed in Mary’s womb was of divine nature, whereas the seed that started the universe was not … otherwise, the pantheists would be right (in some way, at least).

You’re hilarious.😃

But then there’s the matter of why it didn’t bang and kill Mary.

It did “bang”, so to speak–Jesus was born. Though I hear giving birth may feel as if one is being killed, one generally is not. 😉

So it’s pretty dissimilar to the singularity that originated the big bang, really. It didn’t have the mass of the entire universe, it didn’t explode at a huge rate, but slowly enough and small enough to not kill the foetal Jesus. So if any analogy can be made, it’s that the singularity of the big bang was not like God’s semen (or equivalent) at all.

God does not have sexual organs.

I guess it’s probably not good to compare science and religion, they are like from two different universes, although they do seem to have some parrallel similarities. I guess I try to gap the two sometimes, find the worm hole so to speak, but with little effort, and the worm hole could lead straight to hell if I’m not careful.

I gave up the internet for lent so I’m not really suppose to be on here, but I thought I would allow myself to use it for spiritual purposes only, although this thread I started does not seem to be very spiritual, but it has helped me clear my head.

Well, I’m off the internet until Easter. Hopefully I did not lead anyone astray. There are similarities in everything if you look close, but to try and compare anything with the Incarnation seems wrong. Sorry all.

Love and God bless,
Frank

If I’m understanding this question; the OP is asking was some matter created before other matter. The singularity was created and some “time” later (within eternity) God added the other half to the mix to create the world? Life was given the ability before it was given the go-ahead?

God cannot have sexual organs, since he does not have a physical body! Come on, agree with me here.
I see a pattern of you not responding to my posts.

If he did not have a physical body, the image of it clearly wouldn’t be a physical body, right?
