Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew of some good books that would provide a indepth explination of the Spirituality behind the rituals and rubrics of the Tridentine Mass?

I have already read books on why the Mass is important, attendance, ect, but nothing that explains in detail the spirituality behind things like the placement of the alter, the vestments of the priest, the motions of the celebrant and servers, and many other things including the reason for why the candles are made out of the wax they use. I know that even the smallest things hold a beautiful meaning and I just want to know what they are.

Books I have read:

“The Incredible Catholic Mass” by Fr. Martin Cochem
“Hidden Treasure” by Saint Leonard of Port Maurice
“The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass” by Fr. Michael Muller.

I’m looking for exactly the same thing! I hope we get some good answers here.
