The spread of faith....?

I read a lot of different articles online about the Catholic Church’s worldwide numbers. Some articles point to mass exodus from the Church as far as people attending Mass while others point out huge growth in Africa and other parts of the world. Is there a credible source that outlines how much the church has grown the past 5 years or is it impossible to truly gage the growth or lack thereof?
