OK, I’m going to stop posting now because you are twisting my responses to support your worldview which is clearly uninformed.
God bless you,
I hope you continue to study the history of our faith.

Okay everyone. So the early Church apparently didn’t have Love or Mercy.

Doesn’t changed the fact that he was excommunicated in the first place.

I’m not saying it does. I’m not saying he was in the right.

Terrible to die while excommunicated. I hope he had a chance for final repentance.

I mean with regards to the theology, spirituality and teaching of the Church. There was nothing wrong with it.
They only received Communion once a year… and it was fairly difficult to make your first Communion with the minimum being 12 and even that, not a given—I mean God needed to have a whole miracle occur with a now-blessed to make it so children could receive. Blessed Imelda 1327.

I mean, so far as I’ve noticed God’s not stepped down and had a saint dispute any modern church practices in the past 50 years, so I’d say we’re on a good track.

True, but the excommunications of the four Bishops he consecrated were lifted too.

That also doesn’t change the fact that those consecrations were illicit.

The practices of the lay faithful didn’t necessarily reflect what the actual disciplinary laws of the Church were.

And it does change the fact that the Archbishop died separated from the Church he professed to love.
And he is still, from the grave, leading people into error. So, so sad.

No, the decree was abrogated entirely. His excommunication was lifted.

Yes. I wish he would have been able to consecrate the bishops with permission.
