I will go this friday till monday to a a Steubenville conference in Germany.
Any one familiar with the Steubenville conferences ?
I would like to hear what i can expect !

I went to a Steubenville youth conference 15 years ago =) It was great for a 15 year old kid. I know they have other conferences too that I have heard good things about. I don’t know how anything in Germany will be. I have heard that Steubenville is very orthodox and should be trusted in what they teach, but you never can tell. Sorry I can’t help any more.

God bless,

John

Although I have not been specifically to a Steubenville Conference, I have been to other Catholic functions hosted by Steubenville, and found them to be spiritually uplifting and I believe my faith was likewise enriched. Generally speaking, The Franciscan University of Steubenville is known for Catholic charismatic spirituality (their festivals of praise draw large crowds, but this may or may not be an aspect of their summer conference program) and orthodoxy (for example, Dr. Scott Hahn teaches there). My diocese (Savannah) often uses Steubenville for seminarians to do their philosophy and other pre-theology studies, so this institution has the trust of my bishop.

My girlfriend has gone to this conference for the past two years now. It is really heavy on Mass, Adoration, and Confession, which is absolutely phenomenal. The only reason I don’t go is because it is very charismatic and very Life Teen.

Recently attended the “Defending the Faith” seminar at Franciscan University in July. They had many excellent Catholic speakers. Many of them are are top Catholic apologists like Patrick Madrid, Scott Hahn (co-host of the event), Curtis Martin, Marcus Grodi etc. Fr. Benedict Groeschel was the celebrant for the Saturday evening holy hour. It was an excelllent conference and one I plan on attending again next year. I believe they mentioned there was about 1,300 individuals who attended the conference this year from all over the U.S. and numerous foreign countries. I found the number to be truly amazing. I hope you find the experience at your conference as good as I did. The only part I struggled with was the charismatic influence within the Mass and Holy Hour. I am much more traditional in my views but to see the number of individuals attending the conference was a true credit to Dr. Scott Hahn and Dr. Alan Schreck who hosted the event.

ive been to 4 (on the bayou and south both twice) you will love it i wonder how it will be different in germany.
