Thanks for reminding me about tomorrow being, aside from the traditional date of the Epiphany, the feast day of Brother Andre, St. Joseph’s “best friend.” Remember that story in his biography about the dream he once had? He saw an empty chair next to St. Joseph, and St. Joseph told Brother Andre that it was a chair prepared for his best friend. Or something like that.

Tomorrow I may, if all goes well, be going to confession for the first time in almost two years. I am in the midst of a novena to St. Joseph, so you can see the connection I’m making in my mind.

If any of you ever have the chance to visit, I highly recommend spending time at St. Joseph’s Oratory, the pilgrimage site associated with the saint in Montreal. It’s among my favorite holy sites in the world (well, that I have seen so far) and I’ve been blessed to return and visit this past August. I have both him and St. Joseph to thank for a lot of what has occurred since then.
