optional if you do not read the story and research it. But to know the Whole story and not believe, well I do not know how one cannot believe after 70,000 people witnessed it. Are you saying that 70,000 people are wrong? You need to read the story before you “ask” anyone and judge for yourself. Where in the CCC does it say that Fatima is a myth?
nowhere does the CCC say it is a myth. nowhere does the CCC say we have to believe it. 70,000 people have been wrong about many things in history before this, so that by itself is evidence of nothing. If I believed it I would be believing in the words of Our Lady, not in their word. Whether I believe or not is none of your business and does not affect the state of my soul or my salvation.

Since those private revelations which are approved by the Church, are approved because nothing in them is contrary to Church teaching, if a person chooses not to closely follow such revelations, but does follow Church teaching and tries to remain in a state of grace, that is all that is necessary for salvation.

stefany379,
You have accused me privately (as in harassing PM) of being a trouble maker and in violation of the Catholic Church, for the stand I took on this thread. I would like for you to tell me how I am in violation of the Church (and NOT in a nasty PM). Furthermore, I doubt Our Lady of Guadalupe, OL of Lourdes, OL of Fatima etc. would approve of your tactics. You have told others to “look up” the apparitions and their messages. I would suggest that YOU look up the messages and do a thorough study of the life of Our Lady. She just might have a lesson for you.
Thank you, God bless, and no more harassing PM’s, please!

Harrasing PM’s are a violation of the Forum Rules…you can forward them to one of the MOD’s or to the SUPER MOD (ANNE CARMEL)

memo to OP your mailbox is full, if you want to keep PMing everyone who disagrees with you better empty your mailbox if you expect a civil reply. We also remind you to check forum rules for discussion here because the mods will not tolerate breaking the rules.

Mary’s purpose in appearing to and speaking to her children in any of the approved apparitions is to move us to repentence and lead us to greater love for her Son. If reading or studying about such approved apparitions is not producing a spirit of repentence, humility and obedience to God’s will, it is best to leave off such study and engage in classic spiritual exercises that will produce good fruit.

Its the lack of such good fruit that turned me away from the currently unapproved apparitions.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and I have been reading all of these posts. I feel that Fatima is a beautiful story as well explained in this thread. I think some of you have been a bit harsh to the person who posted this thread. It almost seems as if she was beaten up for allowing such a story. Now, as a Christian, I feel there isn’t any such charity here because I noticed this thread as being banned. I cannot take a side as to what is private and public, but if someone has studied this for years, maybe she’s onto something. Just being fair here. Peace to everyone. 👋

I haven’t read all the replies, but I can say that trying to help someone understand the truth is an act of charity. Of course, we should do that in a charitable way. 😉

When someone is obstinate when shown the truth, over and over again, and insists s/he has to be right, then all we can do let such a one go his/her way in peace. Jesus never ran after people, begging them to accept what he said, and we know he was the Truth. So, I see no reason to do it, either, especially when such a one WILL not see or accept what the Church plainly teaches.

Fatima was indeed a startling set of revelations. The Church in her wisdom waited 50 years to reveal the third secret and then only parts of it. I too go with the Church.

The BVM without doubt was the main Agent to cause the Church to wake from it’s slumber. Had it not, then the Catholic Church would by now have been destroyed and the world anihilated.

Aethistic Communist Russia was determined to detroy the Church from both outside and within. They managed to get at least 1025 agents infiltrated into the Church. Some got no further than priest, others we will never know. What we DO know, is that the Church took it all very seriously. The very enemy which set out to destroy the Church was in turn destroyed by the Church. Such is the power of God.

I do believe they infiltrated the second vatican council. I am appalled at the dreadful abuses of the Blessed Sacrament. That unconsecrated hands are now allowed to touch the Host. As an extra-ordinary minister of the Eucharist, I refuse to do the ciborium. I am simply too unworthy to touch the Host. The challice I have not got a problem with. I also refuse to receive the Host from another lay person.

I would prefer to kneel to receive but our local priests refuse to allow it. Heavens know why. I am delighted that Benedict has reformed the rule regarding the Tridentine Mass. The pro populo mass is very beautiful and simplistic but it did rather take us away from our Authodox roots.

LOL!!!
Now now lets give the new person the benefit of doubt…she may not be the same person as the OP…

I agree with you about touching the host. I knelt for a very long time before I received, but the arthritis got to me and now I must bow. I feel that if Jesus were in front of me, I would bend my knees and not bow. that is how I feel at communion as if he is there. (which He is). I too will not take from a lay person.

some people think that you might perhaps be stefany (The OP) in disguise as she was banned…your post does sound similar to her style of writing
Quite honestly, I believe I have seen just this post. Are there others? Was she so bad? sorry, but what is an OP?

Peace.
