This is being provided now because Juan Diego’s Catholic feast day is on December 9.

This image of the Virgin Mary, now very famous among Catholics, miraculously appeared on Juan Diegos’ garment after he met the Virgin Mary. It is now displayed in a place of very great honor in the Cathedral in Guadalupe.

I am reading a biography of Saint Bernadette Soubirous. God chooses the small among us (stature, learning etc.) to teach the wise. The grace they received, stemming from their faith, love and humble submission to God, allowed them to remain at peace when tested, interrogated, chastised and accused by doubters. Their response reveals a wit and wisdom far above their perceived status in life.

There are significant details in the image. Like green is the color of royalty among the Aztecs. And the black ribbon in her hands was used by indigenous women to indicate they were pregnant.
St Juan Diego, pray for us!

I love the story of Juan Diego and Our Blessed Mother. It is so precious
