St. Edmund Campion was an English priest who lived in the 16th century. While conducting an underground ministry in Protestant England, he was arrested, convicted of high treason, and was hanged, drawn and quartered at Tyburn prison. Father Campion was canonized in 1970 by Pope Paul VI as one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales. (The Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Diocese of Sydney)
