She had a vision, and kept having it–of the moon in full splendor with a dark strip crossing it. Then this simple nun learned that the dark place on the moon stood for the lack of a special celebration in the Church of the eucharist. She was being called to the mission of bringing this about. Because of her mission from God, a few years after her death, in 1263, the Pope established the universal feast honoring the eucharist in the Church, Corpus Christi. (In 2016 the feast of Corpus Christi will be on May 26.)
