This excellent article illuminates the inner, Christian meaning of what happened when Mary and Joseph brought Jesus into the Temple in Jerusalem forty days after his birth (which was an obligation of the Jewish Law). There they met two elderly people who, inspired by God, knew who Jesus was, one of them, Simeon, taking Jesus up in his arms and thanking God. This story is found in Luke 2:22-38.
 
The Feast of The Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple is one of my favorite Feast days. Went to Mass this morning & received my candle which is not lit by my home Altar.
