The Suffering Servant of Isaiah 52:13-15

See, my servant will act wisely;
he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.
Just as there were many who were appalled at him —
his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man
and his form marred beyond human likeness—

so will he sprinkle many nations,
and kings will shut their mouths because of him.
For what they were not told, they will see,
and what they have not heard, they will understand.

Is the passage from Isaiah 52:13-15 refering strictly to Jesus or strictly to the nation of Israel?

I think might be both at the same time.

Here’s my take on it…Jesus as the new covenant, came to fulfill the prophesy of the Old. He announced it to those in the temple by reading the passage from the Old Testament.

So definitely, this passage is talking about Jesus!

The suffering servant : Isaiah 53 in Jewish and Christian sources / Bernd Janowski; Peter Stuhlmacher

It has been interpreted both ways by Jewish scholars, but never to my knowledge both at the same time.
