In the Book of Judith, Chapter 15, verse 9 mentions that when the elders of the Israelites visited Judith,
all with one accord blessed her, saying:
You are the glory of Jerusalem,
the surpassing joy of Israel;
you are the splendid boast of our people.
Code: 
A footnote declared:    
 You are the glory of Jerusalem, the surpassing joy of Israel; you are the splendid boast of our people:  these words are used in the liturgy of the Church in regard to the Blessed Virgin Mary.     

    Please explain.
 
This is from the Navarre Bible (Introduction to Judith):

**‘Neither the book of Judith nor its heroine is cited explicitly in the New Testament. However, there is a significant allusion to it in the Gospel of Saint Luke when Elizabeth addresses the Blessed Virgin with the same greetings as Uzziah makes to Judith: “Blessed are you among women” (Lk 1:42; cf. Jud 13:18). On the account of this expression, and the other qualities of Judith’s stressed in the text, the tradition of the Church sees Judith as a type of Mary, because “throughout the Old Covenant the mission of many holy women ‘prepared’ for that of Mary”.(1) In fact in the Divine Office some passages which sing of the Jewish heroine are applied to the Blessed Virgin (cf. 13:18-20; 15:9).’
