Since CAF is closing at the end of the year/ month, I’d like to start saying goodbye to the various lovely people I’ve met through the years posting here.

I started here almost at the beginning. I even made it to Forum Elder with my former abandoned ID.

I changed to this ID when we switched over to this new format.

I used to spend lots of time in family and parenting. And the former water cooler.

My newer user name is based on Sophia Loren’s name in Marriage Italian Style.

I chose that name because Sophia and I look very similar. 😉

Actually, no. I chose that name because I like Sophia Loren films, but also because my mom used to remember this scene and think it was funny. She had Alzheimer’s. Some of the memories that stayed longer were of films she saw at the movies.

My mom’s Alzheimer’s got very bad right before we switched to this forum.

So firstly I’d like to thank those who prayed for my mom and read my posts about her with empathy.

It really meant so very much to me.

I remember you from the old CAF. We had many discussions about family and movies and TV. I will miss that, and of course, my all time favorite thread of yours: Caption this artwork. 😉

You are a lovely polite woman, and I enjoyed our interactions.

I just wanted to say I like your new userpic, made me smile

Thank you.

I think I’ll be updating it periodically until the end.

Cartoon me is cuter than real me. 😜

Brenda Chance from Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, if you’re of a certain age LOL

I remember! It was a Hanna Barbera cartoon if I remember correctly?

Yes it was supposed to be the kid friendly cartoon version of Charlie’s Angels

Come to think of it, I totally remember there being Charlies’s angels dolls in the 70’s.

The show wasn’t for children.

Well I would like to say a word of thanks to @Jean_Anthony and @Thomas_Casey and all the other former moderators of their era who did incredible work, whom we could call by their names, and who would so kindly interact with us as moderators on the forum – through their actually posting in threads as well as through their extensive and thoughtful personal messages – before the forum was made “new and improved”. How kind and wonderful they were in each of the interactions I had with them. I shall always remember them with much fondness and esteem.

I remember you. And hope you are doing well.
Thank you.

I received a kind note from @Tis_Bearself and stopped by.

I perused the wall of threads, which bears no real resemblance to the interesting threads I remember responding to in years past.

The Forum seems to have fallen upon very hard times and, I am given to understand, is not to live to see the New Year.

I stopped by to ascertain what happened – that was very quickly evident – and I wished to say a good bye to anyone who may yet be here from the era in which I posted.

Thank you Father. Addio. Le auguro buone feste e un buon anno.

Did your gram-gram look like Cherry Ames, nurse detective?

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

God bless you, Father.

I am happy to see you, and I am so glad that you stopped by.

I was very grateful for the time that you spent here at CAF, graciously giving of your time and sharing your wisdom with those of us here.

There were many of us here who did greatly appreciate your time, effort, and help, and will forever be appreciative of it. 🙂

I truly wish you all of the very best, going forward.
