Yes, His actual death on the cross DID give life to the world… but it wasn’t a loaf of bread.

That is no different than me saying that the vows my wife and I made at our marriage is a literal vlasic pickle.

That makes no sense at all.

Welcome back, bibleapologist. Or are you a different “BA” who’s joined the same day the original was banned? 😉

Consider this verse: “Pro 20:27 The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD”.

Does this really mean that the spirit of a man is an actual candle? Of course not… it’s a metaphor.

If I say my wife is a beautiful rose… again, that’s a metaphor.

The same way, Jesus used food as a metaphor to illustrate a person partaking of His righteousness. He also used water as a metaphor for the same purpose when speaking to the woman at the well.
Boy, Jesus sure was a lousy teacher.

I mean, there he was trying to spice up his talk with a little symbolic language, and the next thing you know, half the class gets up and walks out. So, then he tries to clarify with some additional metaphorical language and loses the other half. Before he was done, only the teaching assistants were still with him!

And to top it off, he didn’t even have the guts to chase them down the road and admit his mistake.

All those souls lost over a complete misunderstanding.

What a pity. :crying:

Born2Win-

Would you like to answer a question that I put to Bibleapologist? 😉

What do you think? If an Israelite family had put the blood on the doorposts and then sent out for Chinese instead of eating the meat, do you think that the Angel of Death would have passed over that family?

Me neither.

You have to eat the Lamb. Jesus is the Lamb of God. You have to eat His flesh or you have no life in you.

The Eucharist. Everything points to the Eucharist.

Not only that, but for almost 500 years following, Christians believed universally that Jesus was truly present in the Eucharist. This the the same theology that was passed down to the men who determined the Canon of Scripture. If the men who determined the Canon of Scripture didn’t get the theology of the Eucharist right, well… .

This webpage is filled with information about the early Christians, all of whom believed in the Real Presence:

So, not only was Jesus a lousy teacher, but his students were complete idiots for believing something that he never taught!

I hope Born2win is Good old bibleapologist. Because I feel Bibleapologist wasnt going to be able to answer my post 91-93 being banned and all. Not that he could give a answer that made any sence anyway. But bibleapologist post have been very enteresting and I have learnd alot from the threads that he has been in. He knows his religion very well.

Born2win I dont care if you are bibleapologist or not but it would be nice if someone could answer to why they keep using that Jesus was only sacraficed once on calvery against the catholic Church. When Catholics dont belive we are resacraficing Jesus in the first place.
