Hello,

I can understand the sensitivity of the topic and how some friends here got insulted. However from my experience of Valke he isnt the type of person to intentionally want to hurt , at least that what i can feel from his posts on the forum.

I can say that may be he misjudged how offensive his words might be to some here.

Saint Michael i urge you to stay. I like to read your posts and insights . I understand you are insulted but there are many who love to read your posts here.

I am sure that Jews and catholics go along well in life and as friends and so on.

There are the good and bad in all people. There are horrible muslims and jews and christians and ther are excellent muslims and jews and christians.

Lets remember that when we stumble on some of the bad that there is still the good side left .

Hope every body continue to post and share their thoughts.

salam

I’ve read the Jewish Tanach, which is made up of the Five books of Moses, the Prophets, and other writings. I study them on my own daily and with a rabbi weekly. I’ve read the Gospels in the Christian Bible.
But I asked if you read The Old Testament. Simple enough…

Thank you meedo. I apparently did misjudge the harm my words would cause. Keep in mind that these are words that were written in our Talmud and that I have read them and seen them discussed in books that I don’t consider to be inflamatory or aimed at fueling hatred. I suppose that one of the reasons I started the thread was to respond to the unasked question of all Jews, which is “how can you not believe in Jesus?”

I have nothing against Catholics. My father is catholic. I have/had catholic unlces, aunts and cousins. As a child, I celebrated Christmas.

There’s no hidden agenda here.

Valke, I don’t think you are a bad person, your either a curious one or a serious ballbreaker…LOL

How is your father Catholic? Is your mother Jewish? Then we knew who wore the pants in the family!! haha just kidding…

i personally have already read these things…i did not feel offended because , seriously, i did not expect anything better… maybe others felt offended but to tell the truth, such things draw on my lips a smile of pitty and make me remember : forgive them Father, for they know not what they are saying.

I haven’t read the christian translations of the Tanach, which is essentially the Old Testament. At least not in the last 15 years. Having said that, I need to be clear with you. I have of course read B’reshit (Genesis), Shemot (Exodus), Vayiqra (Leviticus), B’midbar (Numbers), D’varim (Deuteronomy),

Joshua, Judges, Kings I & II, Samuel I & II, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah (nice and short), Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zecharia, Malachia,

Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther, Daniel, Ezra-Nehamiah, Chronicles,

Mother is Jewish, yes. I hate to prepetuate the stereotype, but my father does all the cooking.

Valke2, can you post something else from Talmud about Jesus? something rather historical and not offending?

Well, at least you are quoting/paraphrasing Jewish scripture. 😉

other than the story of his falling out with his rabbi, I’m not sure what else there is. I know there’s a discussion about his death somewhere but I don’t have the tractate handy. It repeats the fact that Jesus was a magician and led the people astray (I think).

yes i read about Jesus’ crucifixion in Talmud.

PS: what did you mean by me quoting Jewish scripture?

Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekial, all my favorites… What about Job?? They all foretold Christ!! Isaiah foretold Christ’s birth 700 years before He came and you still don’t believe after these prophets told you so?? What about Esther, Daniel, etc…?

Is it true The Jewish people are the most hated in the world? I wonder why? :hmmm:
May be because they are assertive. People hate assertive people. The more assrtive one is the more the pressure from society on him.

at least thats what i notice

lol forget about prophecies. To a Jew, in order for a person to be the Messiah, he has to accomplish things first…if Jesus did not do what people think he should have done, then no prophecy will convince.

No, assertive is not the word. There are a lot of good Jewish people, only the ignorant and tunnel visioned ones which is in any religion actually…on the Jewish Forums, they acted like they were God’s gift, perhaps they are, but be a little more kinder. That’s all.
