Also interesting is the fact that the tablets written by Moses are the 3rd time the 10 Commandments were offered to the Israelites. The first time God gave them orally to all, but the people were frightened and 'said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will hear; but let not God speak to us, lest we die.” ’ (Ex 20:19; cf Ex 20:1-22; and Deut 4)
