You’re not fooling anyone with your constant use of sophistry in every posting. Nearly all of your postings either involve the deliberate use of specious, deceptive argumentation you already know to be false or deliberate misrepresentation of the words of the person you are replying to.

This is false because it is not exactly equivalent to the belief that they are not “necessary” for our salvation. There will be individuals for which it has no bearing on his salvation, but this may not be the case for everyone.

Certain people seem to think it’s okay to substitute “not necessary” with any other phrase they can think of, as though they all mean the same thing; e.g. “has no affect on”, “has absolutely no bearing on”, “is not helpful for”, etc. None of these mean the same as “not necessary.”

The belief that messages from private revelation are “not necessary” for our salvation means that it’s possible to have salvation without them. It does not mean that such messages are not helpful for the salvation for millions of Catholics who struggle with their faith or lifestyle on a daily basis where these messagse may help to reinforce their faith or help them convert in the first place. If that were true, then the Rosary, Brown Scapular and many other things would have little significance to us given their origins. Even with regard to the Third Secret, Pope JPII stated that the remedy to the evil was to be very assiduous in praying the Rosary. He did not waive his hand, go “pfff”, and then say that the message is not important because it’s not necessary for salvation.

Moreover, the CCC makes it clear that while everything we need four our salvation may be within the Bible, that does not mean that the meaning and application of everything within the Bible is so crystal clear to the Church so that we know exactly what everything means to us in this day and age. The Book of Apocalypse in particular contains much content that remains to be elucidated. And elucidation of parts of the Apocalypse seems to be part of the messages of Akita and the Third Secret of Fatima.

During the events of the Apocalypse (whenever it may happen), millions of people, perhaps a majority, will be deceived or corrupted by the antichrist and salvation may be lost. So, saying that messages from the Blessed Virgin dealing with this topic are not important to salvation is foolish. If we needed no such help then so many would not be deceived or fall victim to the antichrist when he appears. Afterall, Pope JPII on May 13, 2000 did say the message of Fatima was a warning to have nothing to do with the dragon and its tail that sweeps a third of the stars from heaven. And it’s already been explained what this means.

While composing this, I fully expect certain individuals in this thread to misrepresent what I write in their responses, employ unlimited sophistry, etc. I don’t intend to exhaust myself replying to their disingenuous replies. I highly suspect that a few of these individuals are sockpuppets.
 
ATTN MODERATOR(S): FYI, I personally believe this thread would be best suited to another forum - it’s main topic is not really directly related to ‘spirituality’, which I might define as an individual’s relationship to God via prayer and the sacraments.

That is, of course, my bad, being the thread starter.

I see no ‘Conspiratorial Whack Job’ forum, but there is probably somewhere more appropriate.
