If so, then why do you think they are hiding part of the secret?
From everything I have read about it and still continue to do so, makes me come to a conclusion that if they reveal ALL of the Third Secret, there will be much fear in the people on earth. It must be so terrifying and so unreal that not even the pope can do this to us. But we are finding out ourselves aren’t we with the way of the world today.

Or as I said earlier, if there is a secret, perhaps they don’t want to throw it out there for mass interpretation.

On the other hand, maybe this rumor about hiding something runs along the lines of "it was an alien that crashed at Roswell’’, and “Johnson really had Kennedy shot”. Someone will always find a conspiracy. 😉

Have you read Fatima? Do you believe the children?

I don’t know why it has not been published in full, but my first guess is that whatever it says may be a lot of nonsense.

Bear in mind that the Age of Revelation has closed. This has been the official position of the church since early in the first millennium. This was the position used to condemn heresies like Montanism.

No one is under any obligation to believe anything revealed by any vision whatever, yet people will see this stuff being read out aloud by a Pope a having the “Good Housekeeping Seal” of religion. In other words, it could be dangerous to release this stuff through the Papal office and give the erroneous impression that the infallibility of the Pope is behind whatever it states.

There might actually be something in there that contradicts church theology. Sister Lucy was not gifted with the charism of infallibility, and visions and messages from beyond cannot be guaranteed to be genuine, or guaranteed to be accurately interpreted by the visionary.

They might actually be nothing more than the products of an overactive imagination.

I just don’t really think this explanation makes any sense. What could be more disturbing than the Book of Revelation?

The New Testament has got it covered, all we need to do is go to the back of the book. I recommend everyone do so occasionally.

Besides, we need to know our end could come at any minute, it happens to millions of people every day, and sometimes in the most horrific, lonely and painful manner. The church has no reason to protect us from a message like that, it would remind us to get our lives in order.

Perhaps we need a good dose of apocolypticism right now. Perhaps we need a sense of urgency, like the first century Christians had.

Thank you very much for posting this link!! This is a must read regarding this topic (in my opinion).

I just read ***CONGREGATION
FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH - THE MESSAGE
OF FATIMA *** and the interpretation provided by then Cardinal Ratzinger.

What an important message to read especially now during Lent!

May all who read this, as well as all the faithful, be led into more fervent prayer, heart felt penance, and deeper conversion!

God bless all!!!

I have read some about Fatima. I have not studied it as much as the newest one. Keeping in mind that a Catholic is “not required” to believe in a private revelation, since the Church has deemed Fatima “worthy of belief” I have had no reason to question that. If I ever did…that is allowed.

I’m not quite following what that has to do with the discussion over whether the Church is “hiding something” from us?

You are reading something that reports “what the children were saying”. I will trust the Church as to “what the children were saying.”

Frustratingly, I have discovered in studying apparitions you can get extremely biased reporting from both sides. It’s very hard to know what is true, what can be backed up by documentation, etc.
😦 Ultimately I will go with the Church.

IF there is a secret…I agree with your assessment also.

Perhaps if you read it like I’ve done in thorough, you will come to the same conclusion. The church IS hiding the rest of the Third Secret and most people who have read the real story of Fatima know this.

Does anyone here know exactly what the third secret of Fatima is?
And if not, why do you think it isn’t being revealed to us?

The Vatican said it had been revealed. Is that not enough ? If it is not believed now, why should it be believed if it were to claim on some future occasion that it is revealing it ?

They did not reveal ALL of the third secret. That guillotine really bothers me…

But whose book are you reading? Where are you getting this information of the “real story” which I guess is, not in your opinion, the Church’s story? If you are really OneTrueCathApos why won’t you accept what the Vatican tells you over some website or book?

And if there was a secret…I think it’s most likely for reasons such as Hesychios put forward in his previous post. Not some sinister, evil plot to deceive people.

Why do you insist on making such drama out of it? We will never know the hour or the day.

Why don’t you take a look at the Fatima message link that was a few posts back?

Er…excuse me, but I already explained way back in my other posts how JP II said in Fulda how the waters will cover parts of the earth. Furthermore, do not turn a Miraculous story such as this into a major fiasco.

This is what Pope John Paul II and Sr Lucy had to say about it

Um, no.

You can find out what Sr. Lucia and Pope JPII had to say about it by reading the following book (content available online for free):

devilsfinalbattle.com/content2.htm

Fr. Kramer cites all of his sources. The evidence that the 2000 release was not the real third secret is overwhelming.

A few quick examples:

Sr. Lucia also said to look to Apocalypse Chapters 8 to 13 to understand the Third Secret.

And then Cardinal Ratzinger in 1984 said the third secret dealt with the “end times” in an interview with Jesus Magazine.

And there were really two releases of content of the supposed third secret in 2000, too. One was the official release by Bertone, Sodano and Ratzinger. The other was by Pope JPII himself on May 13, 2000 (Fatima anniversary) where JPII quoted from the Apocalpyse and warned the faithful to “have nothing to do with the tail of the dragon.”

??? I have no idea what you are talking about.

You stated in a previous post that you truly trust the Vatican. Why don’t you click on the earlier link someone provided and look at some actual Vatican documents rather than getting information from an undocumented source.

Um, no.

A few quick examples:

Part of what Pope JPII had to say about it was quoting the Apocalypse and telling the faithful on an anniversary of Fatima in 2000 to “have nothing to do with the tail of the dragon” – beatification ceremony of Jacinta and Francisco.

Sr. Lucia also said to look to Apocalypse Chapters 8 to 13 to understand the Third Secret.

And then Cardinal Ratzinger in 1984 said the third secret dealt with the “end times” in an interview with Jesus Magazine.
Can I find this on the net? I would like to read it…I haven’t seen anything about it

See above.
I edited my above posting while you were composing yours. There’s a link to the information online.

I found this on EWTN’s website

And so we come to the final question: What is the meaning of the “secret” of Fatima as a whole (in its three parts)? What does it say to us? First of all we must affirm with Cardinal Sodano: “… the events to which the third part of the ‘secret’ of Fatima refers now seem part of the past”. Insofar as individual events are described, they belong to the past. Those who expected exciting apocalyptic revelations about the end of the world or the future course of history are bound to be disappointed. Fatima does not satisfy our curiosity in this way, just as Christian faith in general cannot be reduced to an object of mere curiosity. What remains was already evident when we began our reflections on the text of the “secret”: the exhortation to prayer as the path of “salvation for souls” and, likewise, the summons to penance and conversion.

I would like finally to mention another key expression of the “secret” which has become justly famous: “my Immaculate Heart will triumph”. What does this mean? The Heart open to God, purified by contemplation of God, is stronger than guns and weapons of every kind. The fiat of Mary, the word of her heart, has changed the history of the world, because it brought the Saviour into the world—because, thanks to her Yes, God could become man in our world and remains so for all time. The Evil One has power in this world, as we see and experience continually; he has power because our freedom continually lets itself be led away from God. But since God himself took a human heart and has thus steered human freedom towards what is good, the freedom to choose evil no longer has the last word. From that time forth, the word that prevails is this: “In the world you will have tribulation, but take heart; I have overcome the world” (Jn 16:33). The message of Fatima invites us to trust in this promise.
