In the larger scheme of things and in the light of eternity, none of this stuff is a blip on my radar screen

It’s silly to worry about things like this, and I don’t trust any photos on the net…many people put this stuff on the net and they have an agenda when they do…just looks like someone trying to take a swipe at our clergy, who have already suffered greatly…don’t believe everything you see and hear just cause someone on the net says it happened…

Are you refering to the pictures? Tell me with your head so deep in the sand is it hard to breathe?😉

Gara,

I have no problem with a priest in the open air celebrating the Mass on a makeshift surface.

JPII celebrated THE TLM on an overturned canoe, the French Missionaries celebrated THE TLM on the top of a stump, our military chaplains celebrated THE TLM on the hoods of our military issue jeeps, etc…

As far as the rest, I’m going to need documentation. Not just your word. Do I doubt that this **** doesn’t happen? No, but our priests deserve the benefit of the doubt.

As far as some of these apparitions are concerned. I read one in which the Blessed Virgin supposedly told the “seer” to eat hawthorn berries to ward off the respiratory infection that would come with the darkness. We know that hawthorn berries are used not for respiratory diseases but for heart and circulatory diseases. There are only a few studies that show a equivocal to moderate benefit to the CV system.

The Church does not oblige us to believe in any particular prophecy as a matter of faith, but we are indeed obliged to believe that prophecies may be made even in our own times, for this is in the Gospel: the Holy Ghost will speak to many in the Latter Days.

Moreover, when an identical prophecy has been made by widely separated people in time and space, when this particular prophecy was accompanied by other predictions which have already come to pass, and when the holiness of the mystics in question has been recognized by the Church, we would be foolish indeed not to believe that the prophecy must come to pass.
You do believe that that is not in accordance to Church teaching, right? In fact, show me ANY documents of the Church where it states this.

No actually it’s not…I have learned a long time ago not to believe something without proof…If these pictures were taken they need to be documented to be of any credible value

I thought as Christians we were not supposed to listen to rumors or to pass them on…that is gossip

😃 I don’t know why anyone would want to live through this? why not just die and go to heaven? Yall can have my beeswax candles. I’ll open my door to those in need and if that means I die well, I guess that is the sooner I’ll get out of purgy
Pretty much what I was thinking, too.

Joy,

These (when they come) will be supernatural events. No one will be able to deny or explain away that these events are from God and supernatural. That in itself will be enough to still the beating hearts of thousands who would not, could not admit to the possiblity of the supernatural. We will recieve prior notice (8 days to be exact) of the events.
I personally will not “split hairs” or second guess the simple instructions.
I personally will take to the streets upon knowledge of the impending events and first notify my immediate family, friends and all who will listen - not with rantings and ravings and loud "hell-fire"shouts of panic…but with peaceful, informative coherence. No arguments, no litigious or argumentative words, just simple explanations and instructions.

I will keep it simple by following the simple instructions without ad lib or second guessing…verbatim.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
And where exactly are you getting this information from??

If this is what it is going to take to get the people of this world thinking and acting in a Godly way towards one another, Lord, let it be, let it be. While I do not believe in the three days of darkness, if it were real, I can only imagine the kind of world that would be left for those who survive. The way we are now, I have to think that we are worse than the people who lived before the flood. My next thought would be, how long will it last before mankind reverts back to the old sinful ways. Would it be like the “LEFT BEHIND” series or be something different. Just a thought.

I have been reading this thread a lot. I, too, believe that if we try to live a holy life, we must not be afraid at all. But when Padre Pio himself had words for the three days, it reaffirmed in my soul that his will happen. We just do not know when:

Padre Pio and the Three Days of Darkness

From translation of a copy of a personal letter written by Padre Pio addressed to the Commission of Heroldsbach appointed by the Vatican that testifies to the truth and reality of these revelations given by Our Lord to Padre Pio, a Capuchin priest who bore the stigmata.

google - three days of darkness

i also read a book, same title, by fr. esper.
he has a highly researched book, presented in novel format, about the 3 days, the great monarch, and then the anti-christ and then finally the end of time. very scary, very interesting. of course we don’t have to believe any of this stuff. but, it won’t hurt.

I think humankind was much worse at the time of the flood, but we’re getting to the point where Our Lady keeps telling us that the justice of God is upon us.

Padre Pio wrote no such letter(s) or even addressed the Commission of Heroldsbach…he never left his monastery!

People, do not worry about the end of the world. Like Padre Pio said, “Pray, hope and don’t worry. Worry is useless.”

Furthermore, if you want to know about the end of the world, think about this: Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the Beginning and the End. The Lord is the Beginning and the End of the world. So the world will not and can not end until the End, Jesus, comes. Neither wars nor threats of war, disasters, catastrophies, enemies, or death will mean it’s the end of the world; these things must proceed the end, but they are not the End.

What is the end of the world? It is this: Christ will come in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his Kingdom will have no end.

i did more research and found this. Although the three days of darkness is prophesied by other mystics, it was not prophesied by Padre Pio.

My apologies.:o

Three Days of Darkness

Three Days of Darkness are claimed to be three days of complete darkness (mentioned by a number of saints or blesseds) where no man-made light will work, only blessed candles will be able to illuminate. It tends to be quoted together with much doom and gloom and fear (especially on the web), and confusion of this kind does not arise from God.

Did Padre Pio mention them or not?

No official website on Padre Pio does. There was evidence to the contrary, for example some websites had a purported letter written by Padre Pio, which in my opinion looks highly suspect in its contents. UPDATE: I have found a catholic book from the 1950’s which actually states that Padre Pio denied giving this prophecy as did his superiors.

all true, no doubt about it.

but, we must keep the oil for our lamps ready, we must be prepared, what ever that means.

It’s the ten virgins parable. It means we must be viligent, for the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

The best way for any of us to be prepared is not by hording food, water and beeswax candles and holy water, but by frequent confession, receiving the Holy Eucharist, prayer, Eucharistic adoration. This is the best preparation any of us could ever have. And this is what Holy Mother Church teaches each of us. Lets look to the Church for the answer, not things that can distract us.

This will work for us, and the Pope agrees on Adoration
