The three evils are:

Doubts-
I doubt Christ and His Church based on every other belief system. Fun.

Impurity- In thought(I purge them 99%, but Heaven knows the pain 1% causes) and in deed(I used to use the thoughts to engage in the deed, now it’s muscle memory I’m fighting), and word(blasphemous and impure language and jokes)

Improprieties- Anger, Gluttony, Rudeness, Hipocrisy, Hatred, Laziness, Pity Parties, etc.(How I act at school and home(at home the laziness especially))

How do I fight these? I go to Confession whenever I can get a ride and speak with my old Pastor as well. I am fighting, but any advice would be appreciated.

You can’t fight these on your own, you need the transforming grace only God can give.

Christianity isn’t moralistic, but mystical and its the mystical that you need to grow in and the other issues will fall from controlling you.

So, pray to grow in your relationship with Jesus, make him the center of your life and don’t worry about the other stuff.

Lastly, salvation isn’t about those who have the greatest will power, but the mercy God has for us.

Pay less attention to sin management, which too many Christians are focused on more than love.

Think about how much free time you have, how easy it is to get food, shelter, clothing, medicine, travel in a car etc…

God did not intend for us to have it so easy. Look at what the last 65 years has done to spirituality.

You have to push yourself. Always be doing something to make your life better. Wether it’s helping someone else with something, praying, studying, exercising etc…

Teenagers are capable of great things, look at St. Joan of Arc.

Also, in my opinion, a teenager today with doubts about their religion does not equal evil.

I would like to overcome all my sinfulness as well. I think we need to become sickened by it, and exhausted from being convicted by His good Spirit.

All I know is that a devotion to Mass, and confession makes it much harder to continue in sinfulness. And in two ways. One, we aquire fear of His judgment. And second, we appreciate His love and desire to forgive us.

May Jesus heal you, my brother. So you might testify to His goodness in you.

Just a thought…

Could you be confusing some temptations as if you were accepting the evil and being entertained by it?

Temptations can be quite annoying, but when we call on the Lord we are not entertaining ourselves with the impure thoughts thrown at us.

Please do not answer me…these are rhetorical questions that you can speak to your priest about.

God bless you on your spiritual journey…Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Mother are there for you…keep reaching out.

Peace in Jesus and Mary,

Dorothy

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom to overcome your temptations.

I’ve been a Catholic my whole life – many many years before I joined CAF – and this is complete news to me. 😦
I believe the OP is speaking for himself, his personal battles.

The general evils, which all fall under, are the Devil, the World and the Flesh, right?

Sin becomes more difficult when the eyes are not turned to see Jesus, but instead the eyes see the sin itself. It is better to remember who rather than what.

The eyes have always to be focused on Jesus for that is really why we turn away from sin … the strongest motive is love, not fear. Looking at the face of Jesus in a picture made by our imagination is a good way to wake up to realize just what sin is really all about … destroying our relationship with him. Is anything worth that?

And another help is before saying or doing anything, think first. Don’t let something just drop off the tongue or mind, but think for a moment about what you are going to say, or what you are about to do. Sin is repetitive if not stopped. It is stopped if it is controlled. But can we really control anything unless we first think about it? So pause first.
