The time before man existed?

I was reading another thread on here and got me wondering what God did in all this time he had, since he has always been in existence and has never changed and never will. Im assuming the angels were also not with him then, as I believe they were also created around the same time as mankind. I know God and man has a different view of time, but since God has ALWAYS been, I just wonder what he was doing in the 1000 trillion years before Adam and Eve.( not to mention the 1000 trillion yrs BEFORE that!!!).

I realize this is very deep and the bible probably does not touch on it, does anyone wonder if God has ever created other races of beings, (Im not referring to aliens though) God had to have something going on…right? Even the bible states our God is a jealous God and likes to be worshipped, and Im assuming he was the same as he is now back then, so it seems strange he would go for that long of time without any type of created beings for him to interact with, and to worship him.

I truly hope we are given all these types of answers when we die.

God is not in time, he is eternal. Eternity is not an infinite succession of moments, it is the absence of time. Try wrapping your brain around that one!

St. Thomas talks about God’s eternity in the Summa, First Part, Q10.

This got me to thinking about something Stephen Hawking said about time and God. It’s quoted in this article:

Hawking may have one alternative proposal for the beginning of the universe, but does he have any argument against the idea that God created the universe? The article alludes to one when Hawking makes the joke which Augustine first made about “what was God doing before he created the universe?” Augustine answered the question by noting that before creation there was no time so God was not “doing” anything within a temporal realm.

In other venues, such as the television show Curiosity, Hawking uses this observation as a springboard to argue that time did not exist at the Big Bang, so no cause is needed because causation only applies in time. According to Hawking, since all causes operate in time, not even God could make the universe while he exists timelessly.

Note that it was Augustine who asked your same question. The Bible does say that our God is a jealous God, but I think this means that our God does not want us worshipping a false god, not that He needs someone worshipping Him. He doesn’t. I also like to think that some of the wonders of the universe, creation, etc. will be revealed to us at some point, whether it is our death, our entry into Heaven, the end of time, whatever.

Asking what God did before time is like asking what happens in a novel prior to the first page! But it does seem like God has been around for trillions of years till one fine “day”, he said, “Hey, let’s do this big-bang thing like right now!”. Hard to fathom for us human beings, being alone with no one to interact with seems like a good definition of absolute, unbearable boredom and loneliness, but God did not create us because he was missing something, but for selfless reasons. That’s the inital plan, until the 1st couple ate that fruit, and things went terribly, and I mean terribly awry.

Holy **** is it really that hard for you religious people to understand that there is proof of the evolution. And like honestly the bible is like all fiction it should be placed next to harry potter in bookstores

I thought somewhere in bible it said God decided to create us because of loneliness? i could be wrong, but Im fairly sure Ive heard that before.

It says nothing of the sort. I have seen interesting combinations of scripture that when interpreted wrongly have been used to support this view.

This is almost related to patripassionism which an ancient heresy dealing with God the Father suffering while Christ was on the cross. I am stating this because it relates that God has human feelings the same way we do and how this is wrong. Also for God to be lonely he would be deficient in a way therefore rendering him not God. No christian could hold the view of God being lonely and have a decent knowledge of theology.
