The tower in Babel & the Twin Tower

Many people are drawing the similarities between the two, there God struck one Tower & made the people speak in different tongues, here there were 2 towers & people speaking different tongues convulged to speak one tongue…

It seems absurd but there is a irony…

History of the Tower

The descendants of Noah had migrated from the “east” (Armenia) first southward, along the course of the Tigris, then westward across the Tigris into “a plain in the land of Sennar”. As their growing number forced them to live in localities more and more distant from their patriarchal homes, “they said: Come, let us make a city and a tower, the top whereof may reach to heaven; and let us make our name famous before we be scattered abroad into all lands.” The work was soon fairly under way; “and they had brick instead of stones, and slime (asphalt) instead of mortar.” But God confounded their tongue, so that they did not understand one another’s speech, and thus scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to build the city.

no conclusion drawn just pointer to whats already there… But when u see the scale of such tragedies the mind does put up questions why should so many innocent people just die in a spurt of a moment… what wrong did they do to anyone.

remember that Noah and his sons were commanded to go forth and multiply. By building one city and not “going forth” the people were not obeying the commandment. They were not supposed to stay put.

If you see most pagan religion advocates to stay put in one place, it is forbidden to cross the seas so on,

You be suprised to know that most Americans have never been out of America,
Im confused myself when we take refuge in the Almighty why does such tragedy take place, many a people in that bldg might have prayed before leaving their homes… I hope u get my point

You be suprised to know that most Americans have never been out of America,

The command to go forth and multiply could not have meant that Noah’s sons were expected to populate the Earth all on their own. A child needs parents, and there were only 6 of them. It seems much more probable that “go forth” just meant “get off the ship”.

I really don’t see the connection here. Should Americans be expected to choose spouses from other nations?

Sorry but there is no connection. Please do not give this act of evil any biblical connection.

I am also confused as to what merit international travel has in your mind.
The US is an amazing place and plenty of things to see without leaving. Why would you equate travel to anything? Why diminish people because they have never left the US?

you missed my point completely, Im neither connecting nor equating, Im just confused & hurt, so these were few things that crossed my mind, & I wanted to know how others felt about it. I couldnt be just callous

well when Tens of Thousand of people die all of a sudden I fail to understand how can u be not sure that people may feel hurt… thats a callous statement, after 9/11 the reaction American were showing suprised me the most & then I realised that the level of education & knowledge of the world was so low out there & they were killing anyone that didnt look American esp those who wore a turban & beard, passing snide remark to collegues in office or people who ran buisness in america.
