The Treasure Chest

I have a large magnificent treasure chest
Finely decorated, filled with only the best,
Crafted of the finest materials, brightly polished,
Ornamented with rare gems, uniquely embellished.

The chest has a great lock that I can open only;
But the trusted lock opens quickly and easily.
For inside is the finest treasure of infinite price.
Nothing I would trade for it, nothing as nice.

Inside the chest, is not silver, gems, or gold,
Precious memories of family or friends of old.
It is not stocks, bonds, lands or buildings,
Nor titles, honors, praises, or other belongings.

For inside the chest, is the greatest thing I have,
Nothing else do I so desire in its place to have.
Inside the chest, is my share of Jesus’ loving heart.
Something so dear, I never want it to part.

This treasure is odd in that when with others I share,
What remains grows and becomes larger in there,
For God’s love is endless without any bounds,
And the more I share it, the more it rebounds.
