What every happen to the tribe of Benjamin?

So we don’t even know for sure the Jews living today are truly the blood descendants of Judah?

Someone else is probably in a better position to expound on the distinctions between Israelites vs. Jews vs. Hebrews vs. etc. It’s not to say that just because of the Babylonian captivity that the Jewish people suddenly forgot their traditional/familial heritage… for example, at the Annunciation, the angel Gabriel said “…The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David…” and Mary responds, "“How will this be, since I am a virgin?” rather than “How will this be, since I don’t know if I’m of the House of David?” So obviously, even though 500+ years had passed since the end of the Babylonian exile, people were still perfectly aware of their personal tribal affiliations and lineage.

The tribal distinctions were just as much territorial as they were bloodline for a long period of time. Once they left, and then returned (70 years later?), it was impossible to return to their traditional borders. Lots of things changed after their captivity; this is just one example.

The tribe was still around (with the tribe of Judah) at the time of Our Lord. Paul was a member of the tribe of Benjamin.

Romans 11:1 …I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin (see also Philippians 3:5)

I don’t know if Jews today know and keep track of their tribal lineage. If not, I’m thinking perhaps many, if not all, of the official records were probably lost when the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD. If so, that and the subsequent dispersion of the the Jews may have had an effect on keeping track of tribal lineage.

They were merged with the tribe of Judah after the split in the kingdom between Israel and Judah and became one tribe (see 1 Kings 11:13 and 1 Kings 11:29 - 32.

Another passage which shows that altho the tribes of Judah and Benjamin were one nation after the split, they still kept track of tribal lineage:
