Here in Arabian Peninsula we have lots of tribes and every tribe claims it’s better than the other one, even some tribes do not allow their members to marry from other tribes!

Islam came to Arabian Peninsula and ignited that philosophy even more, but what about other religions, for example, do the Jewish tribes have similar discrimination among them?

Don’t you think that the tribe is the most reason where false religions spread since any member of those tribes will face many burdens to change his or her inherited religion?

Not necessarily. It may appear so in the beginning, however, if one of the false religions increases faster and out competes the other religion then it can and regretfully does historically show that the other religions become marginalized and second class citizens subject to heavy discrimination. That is part of the reason why the Church Catechism states that it is a religious obligation for Christians specifically catholics to vote if they live in a free society such as the USA to uphold the free society. Sadly, many don’t however, either through fear, disgust, or ignorance.

It’s hard for many Jews to track which tribe they’re even from, except for the tribe of Levi that can be tracked back to the time of the Exodus 🙂 Kohanim can like everyone else marry out of their own tribe, however, they should look after the rules of purity like they cannot marry an unpure woman or a divorced woman or a widow unless the woman is his sister in law. Then you would also distinguish between male and female Kohanim. The tribe is determined by the father, hence if you’re a woman whose father is a Kohen, you can marry whomever you want as the special laws for the Kohanim won’t apply anymore to your children.

Discrimination depends. There’s a Kohen in my class who always tries to talk to me and to get to know me but I give him short and reserved answers. This is because I’m just a tinsy bit in awe of the fact that Moses was his grand great uncle. So in this case, discrimination comes from my side. Maybe I will tell him that but I’m too shy right now.

Tell me about the tribe thingy of your Arabian peninsule a bit more 🙂

We had many Jewish Tribes here in Arabian Peninsula prior to Islam, but once Muhammed was in power he expelled them, however, some of them have returned after that particularly to BAHRAIN & YEMEN.

As for the Arabic Tribes, we have over 500 main tribes, some of them have over 100K living members and some of them have 1000 or so, I myself from a tribe of around 5K members, that is why I do not know the right way to approach my tribe regarding my Christian believes.

I personally do not like this Tribes concept, because unfortunately we have turn it into a discrimination tool against each others…
