I’m reading a book called “In Silence With God” by Benedict Bauer.
I wish this were not happening, but it is … I am getting annoyed at the writer because he keeps expressing God the Father as God and Jesus as the Son of God … to the degree that he is not expressing that Jesus is also God … so it’s bothering me.
First of all, it shouldn’t be bothering me … because I know the reality of the Trinity.
Second, I have to ask am I getting this right … I’m 55 years old and for as long as I’ve known it there is the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit … nothing has changed, has it?
I think I ask that question in jest, simply because the author of this book I’m reading does not seem to talk in the way I am accustomed to reading … that Jesus is the Son of God, but that he is also God. Which is surprising me even more because the book was written in 1955 … a time when I do believe that the Holy Trinity was taught pretty thoroughly.
It is a great book … just not accustomed to consistently reading about Jesus as if he is “only” the Son of God and not God himself.
If I have anything wrong in my thinking, I would appreciate a correction … thank you kindly.
