I read in a Eastern Catholic parish bulletin asking for women and girls to hold the trojca during the Gospel. I think I have only seen men or boys do this in every Eastern parish I have been to. Is this an innovation?
 
I’ve seen men and women, boys and girls, hold Tritzi and candles during the Gospels.

The use of the Trojca is particular to the Ruthenians and Ukrainians (Orthodox and Catholic).
