in Islamic sites . So , it’s a wrong info ? Pl. let us know which Pope memorised the whole Bible ?W’Salaam,
Where did you read that?
mainly used by Muslims AND Arab Christians…in other words, by Arabs. Muslims do not own these words, they existed prior to Islam and Arab Christians existed before Islam…in the same way Christians do not own the word God used by some Muslim translators. Why so many words mainly used by Muslims are in the Bible ? To mislead them ?
there are people who memorize the Bible and teach others how to…there are book are techniques to memorize it…my uncle memorized it…whatever question i have he recites the passage and explain it…anyway God never promised paradise to those who memorize the Bible…i do not understand the logic behind the importance of a book because it can be memorized…i mean we have people who can recite to you any poem you might ask them to in Arabic…it means nothing …Salaam/peace

I did not say it was incorrect, though the source may help to determine the truth of the statement.Salaam/peace

Hello dear muslim woman! Are you from bangladesh?Yes I also know that In Bangla non muslims call God as Ishshor/Eshshor,Probhu!and in bengali version of bible I read God as Sadhaa(soft D) Probhu. So I think that you are my native correct?Or are you from west bengle?I am curious! But if you don’t want to share information about you then please at least tell me,is your native language Bangla?Because Ishshor is pure bangla word and only a bengali(or who is not bengali but fluent in Bangla) can spell it with english letter correctly. Please reply!Salaam/peace
yes , I know. But Bangla/ Bengali speaking non-Muslims including Christians don’t say Allah. Christians normally say Isshor/ Eshshor, Probhu etc . The word Eid is mentioned in Bangla Bible to describe festival . To my knowledge , Banglsdeshi Christians dont use the word Eid for any of their festivals. Other words are Feresta ( angel…normally here Christians say Sorgo dut ) , Behest ( heaven ) …Christians say sorgo. Why so many words mainly used by Muslims are in the Bible ? To mislead them ?
yes . I have a Bible translation published by Bangladesh Bible Society , titled Kitabul Mokaddos.Hello
Are you from bangladesh?!
We are not Arabs , we are Bangla speaking people . On the Christians festivals , our TV telecasts programmes on Christians . I never heard of any Christians saying Allah, Hazrat Isa (p) , Faresta , Behest etc . Ask the morning star about it.… “Isa” for Arab Muslims
Quran is from God & it will remain unchanged till the last day.Qur’an publishers must stop printing the parts of the Qur’an that contain Muhammad’s version of Jesus,
Are u sure they have the full Bible ( not some verses only ) in memory ? Who checked if they really can recite the full Bible from memory ?there are people who memorize the Bible
If he is still alive , pl. ask him if he really have entire Bible in memory ?my uncle memorized it…
it’s one of the ways to keep Quran free from corruptions. No one can change a single word from holy Quran . Millions of Qurane Hafizz are in the world. They will catch the culprit immediately.i do not understand the logic behind the importance of a book because it can be memorized
I never said you were Arabs. Your religious vocabulary as Muslims comes from Arabic, though, so it still makes sense to talk about the different terms (and the identical terms) used by the various communities. My point was that obviously the publishers of the Bible in your country are interested in expanding their faith community, so they want to use the term that would be understood by the majority of the population in your country, which makes the Arabic term more effective as a translation choice. It is not as though the Bengali Christians are not going to understand that “Isa” refers to Jesus, just because they may use another word. The form of a personal pronoun may change with the phonological constraints of a language (my own username is a good example - my name is not “Dzheremi”, but that is its cognate in Russian, and it is never taken before I can get to it on messageboards like my actual name is), but that does not change its referent. So “Isa” or something else, doesn’t matter except when it comes to using language that the people you are talking to are comfortable with. When I am speaking Arabic (to the extent that I can…), I say “Allah”, without any qualms. “Allah” is the pan-confessional Arabic term for God. Why wouldn’t I use it? Muslims don’t own it.Salaam/peace
We are not Arabs , we are Bangla speaking people
This again has to do with their own personal choices, in conformity with their idenitities. Probably they will use their non-Arabic words because they are among their own community at their festivals. When I attend the local Orthodox festival, I do not ask them to stop using Greek, Arabic, or Tigrinya forms and instead use my English or Spanish forms. At the same time, if they were to try to convert me into their Church, they should probably not condemn my way of worshipping God, unless they want me to feel very confused and perhaps not convert (since I don’t understand why I should give up my language and culture if God created EVERYBODY and offers salvation to all, regardless of language). We all worship One God in our own way, in accordance with our traditions, rites, cultures. On the Christians festivals , our TV telecasts programmes on Christians . I never heard of any Christians saying Allah, Hazrat Isa (p) , Faresta , Behest etc . Ask the morning star about it.
Alright, then leave the Holy Bible alone.Quran is from God & it will remain unchanged till the last day.
That’s fine. I’m just saying that the idea that these are “Muslim words” that should not be used by non-Muslims is not sensible. If I learn Arabic well enough and attend an Arabic mass, you better believe I will give responses in Arabic, just as I do in Spanish when attending Spanish mass, and English when attending English mass. For years, Roman Catholics gave responses and prayed in Latin when NO ONE spoke it in their day to day life…so language is essentially not a concern, unless of course you are a Muslim and feel you have exclusive rights to specific words. But for the rest of the world, this is a ridiculous concept. Sorry. In English , God is used to describe Allah . But in Bangla language , some other words are there & non Muslims Bangla speakers never say Allah. Ask any Bangla speaking Hindu , Christians or others.
Peace!Salaam/peace
yes . I have a Bible translation published by Bangladesh Bible Society , titled Kitabul Mokaddos.
If possible , pl ask the local Church leaders why Christians publish their holy book by using so many Islamic words those are not used by Christians here.
Bengali Christians call Jishu (p) but here Isa (p) is used .
Ya you are correct, here I also never heard any Christians saying, Allah, Hazrat Isa (p) , Faresta , Behest etc.But maybe Arab Christian say so because Arabic is there native language is not it?Like you know “sorgo” is a bangla word of Heaven so I think it is possible that Arab christians Call God as allah and Heaven as BeheshtSalaam/peace

Indeed its good to hear the other side of the story…Ya you are correct, here I also never heard any Christians saying, Allah, Hazrat Isa (p) , Faresta , Behest etc.But maybe Arab Christian say so because Arabic is there native language is not it?Like you know “sorgo” is a bangla word of Heaven so I think it is possible that Arab christians Call God as allah and Heaven as Behesht![]()

That’s good . At least , you are not a hypocrite. BTW , so many Christians missionaries are active in Bangladesh . How come they missed you ? They are not doing their job properly there , very bad.…
I deny islam openly )
Thank you my kind brother.Indeed its good to hear the other side of the story…
Keep up the good work morning_star777.

too.
You know,Christians are less than half million in Bangladesh and Christian missionaries are active in bangladesh?I do not know this, because I never met them and I read secular news papers like prothom Alo and watch Channel I or Ntv,or ATN,but never heard any news about active missionaries and never heard these types of news that they are preaching christianity among muslims. So I believe that all are rumors. Can you remember a Cartoon in the magazin “Alpin” of “Prothom Alo”(a native news paper in bangladesh)? And the last line was like this,Salaam/peace
BTW , so many Christians missionaries are active in Bangladesh . How come they missed you ? They are not doing their job properly there , very bad.
Thank you brother for these linksmorning_star777, you bring up a very good point. I think maybe there are some Muslims who think that ANY Christians in their country is too many. Or even sometimes any Christians in their ethnic group (not even within the country). Here is one such story: Somali Christians targeted for death in Kenya
Here is another: Somali Christians attacked, stoned in Jijiga, Ethiopia
I have chosen Somalis because they are somewhat famous for being entirely Muslim, and it is something they are very proud of. Many do not accept that Somali Christians even exist. Look at some of these somewhat…umm…“interesting” responses here: “SOMALI IS THE ONLY RACE THAT IS 100% MUSLIM ALLAHU AKBAR!”
There are no doubt other, similar stories from Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.

is that so? so how come there are nowadays different versions of the Quran? why did Uthman burn the Qurans he had? why does Ibn Masud say the first and last surah of the Quran must not be there? what about scholars differing on whether the basmalah must be there or no? that is, 114 verse? what about goats eating chapters of the Quran? what about the stoning verse, where is it in the Quran? these suffice for now…Sa
