The silliness is starting early and woe to those who take political ads at face value! Editing pictures is just lying.

“Before the coronavirus appeared, Biden ran a traditional campaign, holding town halls and meeting with people. The fact that the Trump campaign is forced to take images of events of Biden with people and twist them into him being alone demonstrates how little material they actually have for an attack ad.”

Three pictures in the ad were doctored putting him in a different place than he was in the picture. The picture of Biden supposedly cowering in his basement is just false.

"“The image, which was used without the Gazette’s permission, was taken by Photo Editor Liz Martin in December when Biden was visiting the home of Coralville Mayor John Lundell,” the newspaper reported. “About three dozen supporters and journalists were at the event, Martin said, and Biden sat on the floor to give someone else his seat.”

The ad tightly crops the photo so that many of the participants in the conversation cannot be seen. Then it deletes people who were immediately behind Biden, including a woman in a coat and a cameraman."

Yes.

They altered a picture of Biden praying.

And he ranted that Biden is against:
  1. God
  2. Bible
  3. Guns
    4: Energy

Hey now, political ads that manipulate! That’s a new one.

Get over yourselves. Campaigns have lied, taken out of context and manipulated for decades. Hell it has been done to Trump during his first term. Biden’s team does it and will do it too.

Like I said, get over yourselves. I am not a fan of dishonesty, and think it has little place in politics, but to comment as though this is uniquely Trump is silly.

When the Biden teams lies in an ad, the lie should be pointed out. I am surprised at your blithe reaction to something which was intentionally false.

Its just an ad? That’s how we got “Willie” Horton.

I am surprised by the one-sided outrage of certain posters. I saw Paul Ryan pushing a grandmother off of a cliff a few years ago.

It isn’t blithe, it is even-handed. I don’t support deceipt, but I also don’t selectively oppose it. Do we need to post a list of falsehoods or deceptions by Democrats on here to make what is a glaringly obvious point?

No, as I said, I think the falsehoods should be pointed out as they occur. Too many people seem to get their news from internet myths and inaccurate memes.

desperados…why dont you come to your senses

This is nothing new or different in political ads.

My fave is when they get the opponent making an unflattering face and put that in the ads.
Both Republicans and Democrats do this.
It fools no one.

Or conversely, when they pose their own candidate looking solemnly off into the distance. Maybe with a flag in the background.

Good times, yo

Personally,I can do without political ads across the board. They are ineffective and tiresome and always paint the opposing candidate in the worst possible light. They are redundant, given the 24 news cycle

Look at the bright side. We always have Sarah Cooper to bring Trump alive.

"President Trump’s re-election campaign has spent tens of millions of dollars on television ads attacking his Democratic opponent, Joseph R. Biden Jr. While their content varies greatly, be it the coronavirus, police funding, taxes or charter schools, the tactics used remain constant: selectively edited remarks and exaggerations.

The New York Times reviewed 22 ads from the Trump campaign that have aired since June and that have been tracked by Advertising Analytics. We found that 14 of those ads contained clearly misleading claims or videos. "

No, ‘everybody does it’ is not an acceptable excuse or explanation.
