In other words, no. Let’s not mince words. Even the native Christians of Iran have had a lot of problems historically, particularly after the Islamic revolution. Assyrian-language education was forcibly dissolved by government degree in 1981, if I remember correctly (have to check my notes to get the exact details; I remember reading this in some of my background research on Assyrian language, which has as its historical stronghold the Urmia plains). I don’t know if that edict has since been rescinded or not. More important is the principle, which is certainly alive in the Islamic Republic: If you can’t forcibly convert them, you can kill the community by other means.

The Armenians in Iran might have it slightly better, or it might be a case of making a nice show for outsiders, as always seems to happen when the subject of the Iranian Jews come up, too.

Given the recent protests, I don’t think I’m engaging in too much wild speculation if I say that I think it would behoove the current leadership of that country to remember that all regimes eventually fall, and the demographics and recent political trends of Iran are not in the hardliners’ favor.

I need write a book to answer all of these!

Islam what?
Islam became my relegion because I have eanough reason for it’s trustworthy. It is God’s true relegion.

Islam is the relegion of all prophets and Muhammad is last prophet. I didn’t guided by your Bible. Bible and Quran are from same God, but we believe that Bible is changed.

Muhammad is God’s last prophet. What he said, said in true Bible but Bible changed. difference between Bible and what Muhammad said is cause your Bible changed. He got his bilief from God. His story is believable and true. Did anybody witnessed your prophets vision or encounter with the angel?

For the reasons, one question-one answer please!
You see my friend, what separate you from me is the truth. This truth comes from sources that are substantial to prove what to believe. When someone tells you today he saw an angel and told you this and that, would you believe? What made you think the followers of Muhammed believed him? Think logically, and you will realized you are being fooled.

Substantial writings, witnesses, and prophesies makes the truth. Muhammed made himself to be a knowledgeable person because his teachings were supposed to be guided by what he knew in the Bible. But history proves more of his quest for leadership, independence, and of course to make a law in a lawless region.

There is nothing more to prove outside of the Holy Scriptures which are proof of an inspired works of men that happens to prove that it is in sync with the prophesies in the Bible. Why would a Christian like myself needed someone like Muhammed to convince me he is relaying the words of God when everything “Good” are already written in the Bible. Why would we listen to his teachings full of hatred and twisted stories? Why would I rely on a quran that tells me to respect but then hate, or be guided by the Book and then not to follow it later?

The prophets of old never had witnesses but they are in sync with all other prophesies separated with hundred of years which means that they can not be a made up stories. Muhammed stories alone in the nativity of Jesus is all wrong with the exception of the Virgin. Even the description of Muhammed of Angel Gabriel is not the character Gabriel personifies when he appeared in our Book.

I view your belief as something more of pride of the Muslim world. The Holy Bible is correct on this. Nobody knows the plan of God, but your world and our world will collide like Ishmael and Jacob. See how true this stories are taking place now? But I am happy for the Christian Arabs who choose to believe and follow the truth. Like you my friend, I suggest you get away from lies, and lead your life with the true Word of God.

Muhammed can not be the prophet of all our prophets. How can Muhammed be when he himself will not believe in the Word of God? All the prophets of old did. He hasn’t proven he is even considered a prophet.

I see that Friendship from Iran has come back with Love, with very good lovely posts. May Allah bless our Friendship with more love.

rikkk has raised some questions. They are good questions if asked with good intentions. Our prophet had said, “Actions depend much on intentions…” God willing some reply will be given to rikkk.

rikkk, we did not do much. We believed in a person (Muhammad) who said that he received messages from God and that he was a mere messenger of God.

But what did you (Catholics) do?? You believed in a walking talking man born out of a woman… You believed that he was God. Did you not cross all limits. I do not know who told you that he was God. Did his mother tell you?? Was an angel walking with Jesus who told every one that he was God Almighty??

Please think over. It was a very serious matter which you people have taken lightly. Ask the Jews who are your predecessors ( Seniors, Leaders in faith). Ask them. You still have their book OT as leading part of the bible. Would the Jews agree to your idea of a man God?? Then come back to Muslims with a reply from the Jews. You will be disappointed.

Okay, Muhammad was not underground. He preached openly for more than 23 years. First 13 years were in Makkah under extreme persecution. The Makkans offered Muhammad to make him their king of the Arabs. He replied that he did not want to be any king.
Muhammad also showed many miracles, like did Jesus. The miracles of MUhammad are becoming true even today. The miracles of Jesus finished with his life time preaching (only 3 years). But miracles of Muhammad are being proved even today. Quran is a living miracle of Muhammad.

Muhammad did not have any desire to be the leader or the king, just Jesus did not want to be a king of Jews. You people are not trying to understand things properly. Please try to read the true life history of Muhammad. (Seerat).

The bible may be having some truth left in it. But it has been amended by men many times. That is the change in the text. Then there is a lot of change in the interpretation of the verses of the bible. that is why there are so many sects. Only in the Protestants, there are more than 30,000 sects.

Is there any proof that bible is still intact in words and meanings?? There is no concise Bible. There is no consensus on meaning. Already many Protestants were protesting against the Catholics. Now more groups (JW’s and Mormons) have joined in the splinter groups. There seems tobe good progress !!

This post is too long to respond to.

Cultured and enlightened Catholics striving for a comprehension of Islam can find appropriate websites on the Internet via search engines, the best sources being Muslim priests and scholars. It may also be useful to study classical Arabic and the Q´uran.
As an insufficiently educated woman I pray I do not offend the Faithful with my following commentaries.
I have written these for the third time, because probably due to their length, I find myself logged out every time I submit my text for which reason I will be obligated to divide it.
In the Middle and Near East there has been a battle for milleniums for the worship of the One Lord which is also understood as obedience to His Laws and commands.
The Arabs and before them the Jews wandered in the vast, scorching, blindingly sun-lit deserts in search of the rare and distant oases.
In the emptiness was the One Lord, the Name.
On the other side was the Evil, murderous robbers, and abandoners of women and infants, and the corrupt and decadent city-dwellers beyond who were enemies where there was fresh water but they used it to water their little green crops when men thirsted and for better fertility sacrificed their firstborn at times while prostituting their daughters before their idols in their temples of stone.

Great is the Lord: the humble he exalted, to the wanderers with few sheep and camels he delivered the cities and the wicked, the bearers of false witness and idolaters that live therein, and either did they accept the Lord or was there no sound and no answer! Blessed is His name!
Christians were martyred in the Roman Empire, but the day came that out of the saddle them that also believed in Eternal Heaven would come from afar fleeing the people that rose up against their sway, and also believed in Heaven, they that dug and tilled the windswept ground and set seedlings into the knee-deep waters, were they not saved by the innocent girl, the Joan of Arc of the Orient, Hua Mulan? And the Roman Empire was laid low and made new in Christendom.
And the scourge of the Lord passed into history, yet once more did it arise, and the few were unstoppable with their often believing loosely Muslim and sectarian Christian troops, but when they turned to believe in Illusion their strength passed from them, nor were they found nor regarded.
And the Christian world held and re-conquered its own from the Muslims, paving the way for Western sway.

Muslims believe in the holy struggle to worship the One Lord and obey what they believe to be His will and commands.
Yet Christians are People of the Book.
Was not the Mohammedan conquest of People of the Book, expanded by the force of Muslim Ottoman arms, an event in the course of history, rather than an eternal divine command?

We believed in a person (Muhammad) who said that he received messages from God and that he was a mere messenger of God.
Do you believe everyone who says they are a “messenger of God”? Just because they say so?
But what did you (Catholics) do??
Here we go again.
I do not know who told you that he was God. Did his mother tell you?? Was an angel walking with Jesus who told every one that he was God Almighty??
Jesus told us Himself. Read the New Testament.
Please think over. It was a very serious matter which you people have taken lightly.
:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Since when have Muslims cared what Jews say?
.
But miracles of Muhammad are being proved even today. Quran is a living miracle of Muhammad.
How?

Where is the concise Qu’ran? Who has possession of the original version?

Round and round and round we go… 🤷

I think Planten is projecting here. He says we Christians take the issue of Jesus Christ’s divinity so lightly because it is obviously Islam and its offshoots that have taken the claims Christ so lightly, tarnished them and distorted them as though they only exist to bolster Islam, a philosophy which was not in existence in the times of the Biblical prophets that Islam claims for itself, let alone the time of our Savior Himself or His apostles, none of whom preached anything like what Muhammad would come 600 years later to preach, either.

It’s the equivalent of the old school yard taunt “I know you are, but what am I?”, really. If Muslims for a second actually took the teachings of Christ seriously they would immediately leave Islam, because the two are absolutely incompatible.

Re: The Truth About Islam

My reply re-reply to Maria…

Planten: We believed in a person (Muhammad) who said that he received messages from God and that he was a mere messenger of God.

Maria: Do you believe everyone who says they are a “messenger of God”? Just because they say so?

Planten: It is the duty of every one to listen to the messengers. If any one says that he is a messenger of God, it is our duty to listen and obey, not to abuse him. He/she will be telling a lie or telling a truth. That is upto the claimant of messengership. Not our duty to ridicule him.

If he is a true messenger, his words will come true. He will progress. If he is a false person (imposter), his system will not prosper. Furthermore, the imposter will be punished by God in this world. The imposter will be killed. That is the Islamic teaching (Surat Al-Haaqah). See also same subject in Deut 18:20 please.

:
Planten: But what did you (Catholics) do??

Maria: Here we go again.
Planten: Maria you should have told the truth that you accepted a man as a god. That is much more than us who accepted Muhammad as a prophet. Prophets had been coming in the world before. It was nothing new.

But the coming of a God, the world had never seen. You went much further that the pagan Greeks who had gods and godesses.

Planten: I do not know who told you that he was God. Did his mother tell you?? Was an angel walking with Jesus who told every one that he was God Almighty??

Maria; Jesus told us Himself. Read the New Testament.

Planten: Thank you Maria. Jesus told you that he was God (or he is God). And you believed him. So if Muhammad tells me that he is a prophet of God, why should I not believe him??

Planten: Please think over. It was a very serious matter which you people have taken lightly.

( There is no reply to this. But other posters are replying to this serious matter, taking it lightly. We Muslims are not taking up these subjects. It is the Catholics who are starting such threads and then they are objecting to our beliefs. We have to reply because they ask for it.)

Planten: Ask the Jews who are your predecessors ( Seniors, Leaders in faith). Ask them. You still have their book OT as leading part of the bible. Would the Jews agree to your idea of a man God?? Then come back to Muslims with a reply from the Jews. You will be disappointed.

Maria: Since when have Muslims cared what Jews say?
.
Planten: We always care about the Jews and the christians. Our Quran is full of the news about Jews and christians. All three religions are in the same boat with some differences. The christians also broke far away from Judaism long ago. There is no need to close up to the Jews now that the Catholics have got rid of the Jewish laws by calling those laws as curse. So Catholics also have nothing in common with the Jews.Only the ancestors of present day christians were all law observing Jews.

We support that Jewish law for the Jews and any one else who would like to adopt it. But we do not like lawless people. We Muslism have our own laws. WE do not mind if the laws of Moses were implemente din the world today. It will help remove most of the rubbish dirty practices of this world.
:
Planten: But miracles of Muhammad are being proved even today. Quran is a living miracle of Muhammad.

Maria: How?

Planten: It is a long story. There have been many saints amongst Muslims (as amongst the catholics) who performed many miracles. They were the simple followers of Muhammad who performed those Karamaat (unusual works). All those were the miracles of our Prophet Muhammad.

God (Allah) spoke to the saints and gave them the news about the unseen things.

Planten:Is there any proof that bible is still intact in words and meanings?? There is no concise Bible. There is no consensus on meaning. Already many Protestants were protesting against the Catholics. Now more groups (JW’s and Mormons) have joined in the splinter groups. There seems tobe good progress !

Maria: Where is the concise Qu’ran? Who has possession of the original version?
Round and round and round we go…

Planten: WE have the copy of the original Quran as it was revealed in Arabic. Of course the original Quran of 1400 years ago may not be available in public today. It may be in some Museum.

Thank you for your long explanation. For one thing, any “changes” in the Bible in the past, say, 1800 years have only occurred, understandably, as a result of translation over into many languages. The Qu’aran is still most commonly found in Arabic; most of its translations have been recent. The Roman Catholic Church is, as we believe, the True Faith, the only one that is really able to claim doctrinal infallibility as a follower of Christ’s teachings. It has existed for nearly 2 millenia. Meanwhile, in Islam, there are Shi’ites and Sunnis, with a number of sects within each. There also have been several “offshoots,” like the Druses and the Baha’i(and partly inspiring syncretic religions like Chrislam and Sikhism). Comparatively, Christianity has “inspired” a number of groups which, unfortunately, often have the nerve to call themselves, including the Christian Scientists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Unitarian Universalists, and(arguably) the Rastafarians. One has to take into account that Christianity has been a global religion for a long time(much more so and to a larger extent than Islam or Buddhism), while Islam is still predominately(please, do not take this too literally; yes, I know about Africa and the East Indies) based in the Near East.

…not to mention that Jesus Christ(if I ever have any sons, I want to name one of them something like Abdulyassou or Yasullah; that is not meant to annoy Muslims!) did not write down any of His teachings and was a man of peace(as opposed to an active warrior like Muhammad).

I know this from experience. 😊
Yes, but in a no. of countries, one also has to worry about the possibility of really becoming a warrior, since you are an so-called apostates. Any crypto-Christians about whom we do not know?

Can’t you follow a thread? Do you even understand what you are posting about Islam? Look. You said in Post 704,

If Islam complements Jesus’ teachings, and the Sermon on the Mount and The Lord’s Prayer are two of His teachings mentioned in the Bible, where do Islamic foundational texts mention those two teachings ?

[It’s beginning to look like Islam doesn’t even know about them.]
Quran contains what Jesus Christ and other prophets said but it doesn’t need say what Bible said. many things your prophets and Christ said but didn’t came in Bible and many sentences changed as we believe.

Sorry, My time is so limited. I can’t answer long posts. Please ask one question for one answer. After discussion about first one, ask secend one. Of course you don’t should do so, but I can’t answer your long posts.

Hello, I hope that you have been well recently. Anyway, for one thing, Afghanistan used to be a part of Persia(it did not officially become Iran until in the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi and from 1959, at least until the Revolution, the county could be accurately called Iran or Persia; even though it is not the most etymologically correct, I like “Persia”). The Turks also did not always live in Anatolia, which was, of course, was once under Byzantine rule and, consequently, Greco-Latinate influence. Universal education can obviously be good for a country’s intellectual atmosphere; however, it is not always necessary for the existence of great minds; an inborn genius can be born in poor conditions and still prosper(and some Persian intellectuals would have received a good education regardless of whether the general populace were so privileged; for instance, I believe that Abu Ali Sinha had been born to a relatively well-to-do family). From what I remember, the Arabs borrowed Persian and Western ideas and works(e.g. poetry)
because they thought themselves to be culturally deprived.
Hi, Thank you. If we try to talk about world in 1400 years ago all countries in Islamic world was Persia, some lands of Byzantine Empire, and Arabia. Only 3 countries. Later in Turks period Turks and Indians added them. In fact we have many scientists in Indians, Turks, Romans and Arabs, except Iranians(Persian)
